Our age difference never seemed to bother him before. Granted, he and I weren’ttogetherbefore. But I think it’s more than that. Since Finley and I spent time together during our brief fake dating, he’s made a couple of comments about him being older than us. He’s clearly having some feelings about it, and I want to talk that through.

For now though, I just give him a soft kiss. “I love a mouthful ofyou. I still need a nickname. You can’t get out of it that easily.”

We’re at my place, on my couch, with the remnants of Thai takeout scattered all over my coffee table. In the ten days since we’ve officially started dating, we’ve already settled into a routine. We have dinner together, either at one of our places or out at a restaurant, then we spend the night together. We haven’thad many opportunities yet to go out and have any sort of fun dates because Christopher got handed half of my work- load at the firm. He’s been drowning in cases. I’m just fucking happy to finally be free to be a couple.

“I’m forty. If I haven’t been gifted a nickname by now, I don’t need one.” He sets his glass down and lays his hand on my thigh.

He’s lost his jacket and tie and rolled up the sleeves of his dress shirt. I love the way his forearms look like this. I’m dressed casually, and as he strokes along my thigh, I’m already starting to get aroused. It doesn’t take much when he touches me. I adjust my cock in my joggers.

“Finley is great with nicknames,” I point out. “Maybe we should ask her.”

Not that I’ve spoken much to Finley. I have texted her, but like Christopher, she’s been busy at the firm.

Maybe it’s that I suddenly find myself with too much time on my hands, but a few text exchanges doesn’t feel like enough.

Christopher’s eyes are on me, but his voice is casual when he says, “That’s the fourth time tonight you have mentioned Finley.”

I wince. He’s right. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry. We had an incredible night with Finley. The two of you have a lot in common, too.”

“It’s just…you see her every day.” I pause, collecting my thoughts so I word this correctly and don’t give Christopher the wrong impression about my relationship with him. “So you know how she is, what she's doing. I was spending a lot of time with her, and suddenly I’m not.”

“You miss her.”

I nod.

“I understand. That sass and attitude fills a room with energy. It’s fun to spar with her. You’re right, I do get to do that every day, even if it’s just for a minute or two here and there. Andattraction doesn’t end because the three of us spent the night together.”

“It increased it,” I admit. I rest my palm over his hand. “But that doesn’t mean this—us—is lacking anything for me. I love you.”

“I love you, too. I’m not offended, Evan. I really do understand. That night with Finley was incredible, and nothing about that takes away from you and me. I would love to share her with you again, but even if she doesn’t want us to fuck her again, there’s no reason we can’t have her in our lives socially, right?”

“I don’t think I want just a friendship with her. But if that’s all she is offering right now, I’ll take it.”

Christopher’s hand is resting behind my neck on the couch, and he shifts to trace a line along my jaw. “I want to give you everything you want and more. If you want Finley, I want to give you time with her. Why don’t you invite her to have dinner with us one night?”

Gratitude rushes over me. Relief. “Fuck, you really are perfect, do you know that?” I kiss his fingers. “And you already give me everything I want. You pay for dinner for us every time we go out or order out. You always bring wine. You negotiated severance for me for six weeks with Charles and Mary Grace. And you got me a job interview at Sanders and McSweeney.”

“I didn’t get you that job interview. I just casually mentioned to Jason Sanders that you left our firm because you wanted to focus on property law and they’re the best there is.”

“The interview is Monday, and they never would have let me in the door without that recommendation from you.”

“That is not true at all. Your reputation speaks for itself. As for severance, it would have looked bad for the firm not to offer you any. Paying for dinner is because I’m older, I’ve had more time to invest, and I make more money than you. I’m traditional that way, what can I say?”

Brushing my lips over his, I stare into his eyes. “There was one more thing you did for me. That little shopping trip we went on. Though we’ve yet to use any of it.”

In the past, I’ve really enjoyed using toys with both men and women, and a couple of days ago I started obsessing about the idea of a cock ring for Christopher and both anal beads and a plug for me. We also bought restraints, though I think I was thinking more about putting Finley in them than either me or Christopher.

Christopher’s eyes darken. “I’m feeling very fucking indulgent right now. Which is why later tonight I am going to tease you with those beads and that plug until you’re fisting your cock so tight you spill cum all over your hand.”

I moan softly. “Promise?”

“I’ll promise you anything.”

He gives me a hard, demanding kiss, but after a second, I pull back. “It doesn’t actually bother you that you’re older than me, does it?”

Christopher tries to kiss me again, but I put my hand on his chest. “We should talk about this if you are. It doesn’t matter to me. It shouldn’t to you either. I don’t need a daddy. Yes, you have more experience and more money, but I’d like to think we’re equals.”
