Rhys, Grey, and Reik walked inside, Reik closing the door behind him.

“We figured you were talking about Ian’s foundation,” Rhys said.

“And we wanted to make sure.” Grey shifted his weight from one foot to the other.

“Go on,” his father boomed. Even sitting in a hospital bed, he was scary as hell.

“Just . . .” Reik cleared his throat. For three tough Highlander men, his brothers had clammed up pretty quickly.

“You wanted to make sure I gave Ian my blessing?”

His father hadn’t built a multibillion-dollar company by being an idiot. All four of them, Ian included, smiled.

“Aye,” Rhys said, the entire room bursting into laughter. They’d traveled through time and were better men for it. And one of the two people who had given them the skills they needed to survive was joined by the other when their mom came back into the room.

“Are we having Thanksgiving dinner here in the hospital, then?”

No one spoke. Because they all thought the same thing. In this hospital room, at home . . . it didn’t really matter where they ate. They were all here. Alive. Healthy.
