“My son isn’t really sure of anything which is why he keeps making the mistake of getting women like you pregnant.”
“Women like me?”
“Yes. Loose women that?—”
“Listen, lady, I’m trying my best to remain respectful but you’re really trying it, okay? There is nothing loose about me. Your son is only the second man I have ever been with in my life.”
She shrugged. “Be that as it may…”
“It may, hoe,” I spat.
Gone was that goofy ass, fake ass smile plastered on her face. I could tell she hadn’t expected me to fire back at her, but fuck that. She wasn’t going to disrespect me and get away with it.Fuck that!
“Oh, there it is.” She chuckled sarcastically. “That’s the real you right there.”
“You don’t know me to state who or what the real me is, ma’am.”
“Which is the problem,” she countered. “Solomon is the son of a very prestigious man…”
“The same man literally no one knows has a son?” I frowned.
“Little girl you don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“I know what Smoke has told me which means not only do you have him as your son, but you also haveNoahwhom you both have abandoned.”
That quickly all of her confidence, as well as her color, faded. She clearly hadn’t expected me to know that. It was apparent this woman thought I was just some kind of bop to Solomon, but she had things totally confused. It wasn’t my job to clear that up nor was it her place to come to my job being rude.
“Listen, I didn’t come here to discuss things you know nothing about, little girl…”
I cut her off. “I know enough and I’m grown. Now, let’s cut the shit and get to the reason you’re stalking me.”
Her eyes narrowed into slits. “I wonder if my son knows how disrespectful you really are.”
“And I wonder if he knows you’re here.” I folded my arms in front of me.
“Look,” she growled. “I only inconvenienced myself and came here to offer you this.” She went into the backseat of her car and produced a duffle bag full of money.
I was really confused now because why the hell did she show up to my job with money and how the hell did she know where to come?
“Um, what is this for?”
“For an abortion and for you to stay away from my son,” she answered. “It’s fifty thou—” I didn’t even allow her to get the rest of her sentence out of her mouth before throwing the bag back in her direction. “What in the world?!” she screeched. “What is wrong with you?!”
“No ma’am, you’re the one that something is wrong with! Are you insane?” I snapped. “I’m not getting an abortion! And I don’t need that measly fifty thousand dollars.”
She scoffed. “Fifty thousand dollars is hardly measly, especially for a dental assistant.”
“Dentist, hoe,” I corrected, stretching the truth just a little, but I had already completed my classes. All that was left was graduation. “See you should have done your research on me before coming here. You don’t know anything about me at all, especially assuming that I’ll acceptanyamount of money to get rid of my child.”
She sighed. “Just take the money. No matter who you are and what your occupation may ormay notbe, you don’t have this kind of money lying around and you cannot afford to take care of that child how it needs to be.”
I was over her and the conversation. In order to keep from decking her ass in the mouth like I wanted and to refrain from getting more disrespectful than I already had, I moved to get in my car but she just had to keep going.
“Listen, ma’am, please get your hands off of me and get away from my car,” I warned. “I’ve been more than patient with you but you are really pushing it here.”
“I just want you to?—”
Knowing I couldn’t do her how I wanted because of who she was, I pulled my trump card when I cut her off.
