That seems to do the trick well enough, the question distracting Caleb as he glances at the pile of suitcases still sitting near the entryway. “The old woman who lives on the floor above me flooded her bathroom, and it leaked into my apartment. Thought I could stay with you while the repairs are being made.”

Alek’s eyes lock with mine, but Caleb thankfully doesn’t seem to notice how tense the room is now.

“I’m going to put my things up in my old room. Hey, I brought my Xbox! Maybe we can play later,” Caleb says, lightly punching me on the shoulder as he jumps up to rinse his plate off. I agree absentmindedly, standing and rinsing my own plate off as he hefts two suitcases onto his shoulders and disappears down the hallway.

Within seconds, Alek’s chair is screeching behind me and then the warmth of his body is crowding mine. His teeth tug on my earlobe, his warm breath making me shiver. “Never thought at forty-three, I would still have to worry about my grown-ass son cock-blocking me,” he murmurs.

I reach around behind me, blindly searching for the outline of his cock before giving it a squeeze.

“If you make me hard right now when I can’t do anything about it, I swear I’ll bend you over and spank that cute ass pink the first moment we’re alone,” he warns me, his voice gravelly.

“Oh shit, Alek, you just mademehard,” I whine.

He chuckles deviously into my ear before spinning me around, his hand threading through my hair and yanking it back. His lips slam onto mine, taking me in a possessive, heated kiss as his tongue flicks inside me. He thrusts his hips, grinding against my hard cock as I whine.

“My greedy boy,” he murmurs.

I flush. “Does this mean we can’t fuck for a while?”

Alek pauses, releasing his hold on my hair as his dilated pupils assess me. “Is that what you want it to mean?”

“Uh, well, I just assumed you didn’t want him to know yet. If we want to keep this on the down-low…” I trail off, because I hate the thought of being separated from him. The idea of hiding what we’re becoming to each other doesn’t settle well with me. Actually, it makes my stomach feel kind of sticky.

Shit, is this how my brother felt when he was seeing Maddie behind my back?

When I try to look away, Alek gently guides my chin until I’m looking at him again. His icy blue eyes are swimming with concern, and when we’re this close together, the laugh lines around his eyes are a little more prominent. “Hey, hey, what’s going on in that beautiful brain? Talk to me.”

My cheeks heat as I take in a shaky breath. “I’m just…tired of lying to people.”

Understanding dawns on his features, but instead of being irritated, he shrugs. “Then don’t. We’ll go tell him right now.”

My lips part, and I stare at him. “What?”

His thumb brushes over my pulse point. “You don’t have to keep secrets for me, Luke. I won’t do that to you.”

But Evelyn does.

He kisses me again, tenderly this time. “I didn’t want to sideline Caleb by letting him walk into us all over each other, but I also don’t want to hide you. You’re not a dirty secret, you…you’re mine. I’ll tell the whole world, if you let me.”

I reel back. “You mean that, don’t you?”

He arches an eyebrow. “Should I tell him, sweetheart? It’s your call.”

Fuck. Why does that make me all gooey inside?

“Um, what if he gets mad at me?”

Alek’s eyes darken. “I’ll make him come around.”

A shudder runs through me at his steely tone, and for a moment, I contemplate it. But what if Caleb never looks at me the same way again? What if I lose his friendship forever? There’s also the fact that he doesn’t even know I like dick yet.

Well, mostly his dad’s.

“Can we—can we wait just a little bit longer? Please?”

Alek’s shoulders slump just a tiny bit, a flash of disappointment in eyes, before he covers it up with an understanding smile. “Of course. We can do it however you want. We don’t have to do anything until you’re ready.”

It’s on the tip of my tongue to tell him I want just a little bit more of Alek’s time before we tell Caleb. Just in case Caleb decides to hate me and make his dad pick between us. It’s what I would deserve, after all. That’s what I did to my brother.
