The following isfrom a recorded interview with the District Attorney and Levi Monroe:
DA:The Harvest Girls: Cara Andrews, Amber Montgomery, Elizabeth Barton, Sloane Bridges. Their belongings and DNA were found at the home of the Goode sisters in the bayou. How do you explain that?
Monroe: Simple. They were there.
DA: I thought you abducted the Harvest Girls?
Monroe: I did. But then I ran into those Voodoo sisters. Now they were the real deal.
DA: What do you mean by that?
Monroe: They had powers. Not the tourist shit the phonies peddle in the Quarter. But real spells. Still not sure what they did to me, but they started chanting and one minute I was in my boat with the girls, the next I’m waking up alone, floating out in the middle of the bayou. The girls and the sisters were gone.
DA: When you say the sisters, you mean Marta and Tisha Goode?
Monroe: Yeah. They may’ve been witchy, but they were terrible atcovering their trail. Tracked ‘em to their cabin and took back what was mine.
DA: The Harvest Girls?
Monroe: Yeah.
DA: What about Marta and Tisha Goode?
Monroe: I made sure they couldn’t use their black magic on anyone else. If you ask me, I did the world a favor.
DA: So, you killed Marta and Tisha Goode?
Monroe: Yep.
DA: Where are their bodies?
Monroe: That’s a question only God and the bayou can answer.
DA: What about Sloane Bridges? Why did you let her escape?
Monroe: I didn’t. Thought the bitch drowned when she jumped overboard.
DA: And the other three girls, Cara, Amber and Elizabeth? What happened to them?
Monroe: They came back to the farmhouse to keep Rebecca company.
DA: Mr. Monroe, the girls went missing in 2005. Forensic evidence suggests Rebecca died in 1996.
Monroe: Even the dead get lonely.
DA: What did you do to the Harvest Girls, Mr. Monroe? Are they still alive?
Monroe: Are any of us truly alive?
This timeit was Jake who hit pause.
“Why’d you stop?” Dana asked.
“Because you’re shaking,” he answered, pulling her against his chest.
