“It doesn’t matter now, my Beast.” I shake my head with a growl.
“It does, this one really does though.” She swallows before reaching into her pocket and pulls out a sticky note she holds it out.
“It’s okay, it doesn’t matter anymore.” I try to push her hand away.
“Just, read it. Please.” She presses it into my palm.
I take the note, hesitant to take my eyes off my mate for even a moment but still, my stomach flips when I read the words written in her neat script handwriting.
“Really? You love me?” My hand tightens around her waist.
“Actually, I think Magnes left it for you.” Her nose scrunches up.
“Then I have a message for him.” I lean in and slant my mouth over hers, pulling us together until she’s releasing a soft sigh into my mouth, eventually she pushes my chest away.
“Alright,” she says as steps past me, picking up her purse from beside the door.
“Where do you think you are you going?” I ask.
“To give Magnes your message.” She flashes a smile as she fishes her keys out of her purse.
“Oh no you don’t.” I put one hand on the door, keeping it closed, and caging her to the wall between my arms.
She grins up at me. “I thought you liked it when I ran away?”
“You are a little beast,” I murmur, “if you think you are going to get away from me that easily. I want to hear you say it.”
“Say what?” She asks, her head cocked to one side.
I put a hand around her neck, not putting pressure, just pinning her to the wall, tilting her face up so she is forced to look at me. Her pulse jumps beneath my fingers.
“I want to hear you say out loud what you wrote on that note.” My thumb traces up and down the column of her throat.
“I’m in love with you, Sacha.” Her tongue darts across her lips, with a teasing smile. “I want to be with you. Forever. If that’s still on the table.”
“There will never be anyone but you, Bailey.” It’s an easy promise to make. I dip down to find her lips. Her hands reach for the side of my face tugging me to her. Not a passionate kiss, a compassionate one. Full of reassurance, warmth, and an unconditional understanding. She is mate, my perfect Bailey.
“Then maybe—we could try the knotting thing again?” Her voice is breathy when she asks.
“We can try it again, and again, and again.” I tug her close, so she can feel where I am already hardening in my torn and ruined pants. Bailey’s fingers toy with the lapels of my jacket in a way that feels completely erotic.
“Maybe you could finish ripping off that suit, chase me down the hallway, and ravish me until I am too tired to come anymore?”
“Is your roommate here?” I ask.
“She has her internship. All afternoon.”
“Then we might need to hurry.” I grin.
With the state that my suit is in, it doesn’t take much to tear my clothing completely from my body. A few quick movements and I’m stripped bare. Bailey’s eyes pause to drink me in, completely exposed to her from head to toe.
“Are you just going to stand there, Beast? Or are you going to give me something to chase?”
Her eyes light up, and she squeals before racing down her hallway.
I catch her before she can even get to her door. Wrapping my arms around her waist with a growl, I lift her over my shoulder and carry her into the bedroom. Her room is small and her bed is even smaller. I decide the floor is the best option for us, I spread her out under me. Her smile is bright as her hands rove across my body, digging fingers into my hair like she cannot keep from touching me. She’s wearing a bright yellow shirt and a pair of blue jean shorts. I strip them off carefully, taking my time to tenderly kiss every bare inch of flesh that is revealed, enjoying running my fingers over all of her glorious curves and soft dimples, and relishing the way her breasts bounce as I remove her bra.
It’s mine, she’s finally all mine.
