“Slow burn romance,” I hear Stella say in a bored tone as she comes into the meeting room.
Before Camy can ask more questions, other team members arrive, and the meeting takes off. Thankfully, Camy shuts the hell up.
All the softness that had been there last night in Luna’s demeanor toward me has vanished. I know why. She didn’t like me announcing to Camy, essentially the world, that we are dating.
Well, suck it up, buttercupbecause if we’re together, which we are, no fucking way am I going to hide that fact. Hell, I’m ready to pound my chest and scream, ‘Me Dom. My woman Luna. Hear me roar!’
Camy flounces out as soon as the meeting ends.
I have no clue why she’s in a tizzy. Sure, we went out to social events once in a while, mostly when I knew Luna would be in attendance, but I didn’t lay a hand on the woman. Any ideas about a relationship were in her head, and she should know better since I turned down having sex with her when she offered, repeatedly.
Luna meets me by the door with a look that could peel paint off the walls.
She grabs my wrist and pulls me into her office. She shuts the door. Locks it.
Interesting!
“What the hell was that?” she hisses, her cheeks flushed.
I don’t insult her intelligence by asking ‘what the hell was what’even though I’m tempted to. “Thatwas the truth.”
“You can’t just drop it like that in front of the whole team?—”
“I can,” I cut in gently. “I’m not hidingus.”
She glares at me. Frustrated. Gorgeous.Mine.
“Moonbeam, are you embarrassed about being with me?” There is a silver of fear inside me that she is.
She looks at me like I’ve sprouted horns. “Are you out of your mind?”
I’m filled with an overwhelming sense of relief. “Then what’s the problem?”
Her shoulders drop, the fight draining out of her as fast as it came. “I…I just…so…we’re dating now? Is that what this is?”
“I believe yesterday’s picnic made it pretty clear. I even copped a feel, and you didn’t protest. That’s first base, baby. The ruling is in! We. Are. Officially. Dating.”Deal with it!
Her lips twitch. “You’re….”
“Yours.”
She lets out a breathy laugh. I step closer. Her eyes glitter shyly.
I yank her to me. She doesn’t resist. She puts her handson my shoulders and goes on tiptoe, brushing her lips against mine.
The kiss is slow. Soft. Soothing. Stirring.
When we part, I’m grinning like a kid who just found a PS5 under the Christmas tree.
She smirks. “So, if we’re officially dating, when’s the next date?”
God! I love this woman!
“Friday afternoon. If we can duck out early.”
“We’ll see.”
As I’m leaving her office, she calls out, “I see Camy rubbing her boobs against you again, I’m going to rip her fake tits off.”
