“Really? And what would that look like in your crazy British mind?”

“Well, an apology would be a good start.”

A muscle in my jaw started to twitch as I reminded her. “I saved your sorry ass from drowning, remember?”

Forcing my muscles to relax, I leaned down and placed my lips against the cuff of Molly’s ear. I heard her suck in a breath. Fuck even her tiny ears were sweet.

“And I’m calling in your debt. So, your ass is mine Miller.”

“I’m not a piece of property, Hudson.”

“I beg to fucking differ,” I replied with a wolfish smile.

“You’re so snarly all the time. Typical Scorpio characteristics,” Molly muttered, rocking from one foot to the other.

I placed one of my hands on the lockers close to her head. “What?” I rasped. Where the hell hadthatcome from? This girl was as unpredictable as her shitty British weather.

She motioned up and down my chest with one hand. “Your star sign. You must be a Scorpio; temperamental and as moody as hell.”

So little Molly Miller believed in horoscopes. I cocked my head as I responded, “You surely don’t believe in all that star sign crap?” I forced the words out as she was correct. My birthday was in October, and I was a Scorpio.

“Yes. Don’t you?”

“Nope. I don’t believe in looking to the stars. If I want to know the future, I fuckingmakeit. I don’t read about it.”

Removing my hand from the locker, I stepped back so I could see her reaction to my words.

The loss of her softness was almost devastating, and I longed to wrap my arms around her in a bear hug.

“What do you want, Hudson?”

“What were you doing at Lang’s last night? You don’t have any friends,” I mocked, my eyes roaming over her perfect features.

“I went for a walk, not that it’s any of your business.”

“It is if it involves my sister.”

“I wasn’t doing anything to her. We hung out for a bit, that’s it,” she explained, her brow creased.

“Stay away from Harper.” My tone was firm.

Rolling her eyes, she replied, “I only found out last night that she was your sister. And why should I stay away from her?”

“Your reputation, for starters.” Referring to that, when I was responsible for it was a dick move, especially when Molly probably hadgood girlinscribed across her soul.

“You know there’s no truth there, Hudson. You and your followers made that rubbish up.”

“I don’t care. I still don’t want you anywhere near Harper.”

Her narrow shoulders drooped. “Fine. Whatever you say, oh master?”

From the way she defensively wrapped her hands around herself, I knew I’d won. My dick twitched, even though she was being sarcastic, I liked her calling me master.

“Anything else I can do for you?” Molly’s attempt at sarcasm was so lame.

“Well, one thing certainly springs to mind,” I snickered, crudely cupping my junk.

Molly glanced down and then gave me a snooty look. “No, thank you. I suggest you go find your friend Sasha to scratchthatitch.”
