In the silent room, I heard the cracking of bones, but it was only for a second before I saw the large shadow from the side of my eyes. I turned and looked at the huge black glossy wolf that towered over me.

Oh wow, it looked even bigger up close. His green eyes were staring intensely at me.

Okay, I wanted to see it, but…Now what?I stood up slowly. We were nearly the same height, but there was no fear within me. I reached out, running my fingers through its fur, my heart racing when he moved undermy touch, only to brush his nose against my chest. I smiled despite myself.

“Was that a way to get close to my breasts whilst you look like a big doggy?” I asked.

I smiled softly, remembering a time when I had once found an injured puppy. I had always loved animals. They were my only companions, often enough. I didn’t know what had happened to that puppy. Amoria had tried to kill it to upset me. I remember I quickly made it run away using a spell. That time she beat me a lot, but I had only prayed that the puppy had gotten away.

Then there were the rats in the cavern. I was given food to survive; after all, Endora had needed me… I used to share what I had with the rats. All life is precious, right?

He nuzzled his snout into my neck, and I wrapped my arms around him tightly. He purred, and I smiled into his soft fur.

Maybe I’d have liked you more if you were an actual animal… not a beast…I closed my eyes, leaning into his warmth. When I suddenly realised what I was doing, I quickly let go and stepped back. He sat down and nudged me gently.

“You can shift back now,” I said, about to turn away when he licked my face. I gasped, a laugh escaping me. “Yucky! Seriously, you’re behaving like an actual animal.” I wiped my face with my sleeve, giving him a frown that held no anger. Walking over to the sofa, I sat down and picked up my plate. “I want to eat.”

He simply came over and sat down next to my legs. I looked at him, thinking he looked like a huge dog. Well, kind of…

“If I’d had something like you years back, maybe I’d have been safer,” I murmured.

He gently rested his head down next to my leg and didn’t move. I ate slowly. His warmth was comforting, his aura was powerful yet soothing, and I realised I didn’t mind him in this form. Yes, he was a werewolf... but I hadn’t been abused by one in wolf form, unlike their human counterparts.

“Are you not going to shift back?” I asked, looking into his green eyes. He shook his head and I smiled, picking up his uneaten pizza slice.

“Do wolfies like pizza?” I asked, dangling it out. He growled playfully, and I smiled, tossing it up. “Fetch, doggy.” He practically rolled his eyes before reaching out and swallowing it. He definitely was not a dog... he didn’t even jump; he acted all arrogant and mighty. “You’re no fun... couldn’t you have at least jumped and caught it? Meh… boring doggy.”

I finished off my food, enjoying his warmth against my lap. The moment I moved the plate, his head rested on my lap. He sure was heavy…

“How much do you weigh? You’re a fatty. You know, I can’t just sit here and pet you. I need to clear this up,” I remarked, running my fingers through his fur. Would his human hair feel as good?

The image of him undressing… the way his abs rippled when he reached for his belt... how could he eat that much pizza and still look so good? My core throbbed and he growled, startling me with his eyes staring up at me. The intelligence within them was a stark reminder that he was not just a random huge wolf.

“Excuse me,” I said, easing away. I wasn’t sure what caused that change in him, but it unnerved me.

I got up quickly, gathered the rubbish then left the room and the wolf behind. I didn’t miss his eyes that were fixed on me, and I swore he was looking for sympathy. I had finished taking the dishes and boxes to the kitchen and returned to the lounge area with a cloth and spray, freezing when all I saw was Rayhan’s ass before he pulled his jeans up, his back towards me. My cheeks burned as I stood there frozen.

Oh my god, I just saw his ass. Oh my god…

“Come on in, Kitten…”

I jumped, almost dropping the spray, and prayed he didn’t know that I saw his ass. It was...No, don’t think of his ass.I kept my gaze on my destination, quickly spraying it and wiping it, and I turned and rushed from the room before he could say anything else. I ran to the kitchen, a hand on my heart.

His ass was as fine as the rest of him; his jeans didn’t lie. I quickly washed the dishes when I heard his footsteps, praying that my heart would calm down.

“What’s wrong, Kitten?” he asked, walking to the fridge and taking a water bottle out.

“Nothing,” I replied. Oh, he knew exactly what happened…

“Good.” He smirked, and I swore I wanted to slap him one. “I’m going to order dessert and hot drinks. Want a coffee? Or something?” Dessert… as much as I wanted to eat more, my tummy was full.

“We can make coffee here,” I suggested.

“Yeah… I don’t really know how to use this stuff.” He motioned towards the coffee machine. I knew he was a pampered rich boy... that confirmed it even more.

“What, did you have people waiting on you hand and foot?”

“Well, pretty much... and since I am the future Alpha, no one minds making me a hot drink or something,” he said with a wink.
