It was clear he was doing his best so no one reacted violently, but I could feel Rayhan’s anger at those who didn’t seem to care that they had hurt me. The first man was summoned forward, and Marcel looked directly at him.

“When you were told to beat the witch-child, did you do it willingly?”

I closed my eyes, feeling the immense aura roll off Marcel. How could I forget? Of course he was strong, immensely strong.

“I…” The man lowered his head. “Yes…”

“Do you have any remorse for those actions?”

“She was trash,” he replied.

A murderous growl left Rayhan, and he grabbed the man by the neck. Marcel swiftly moved me behind him.

“I don’t think any further questions are needed for this one,” Rayhan growled, his aura matching his uncle’s as it rolled off him in waves. I could see the effect it was having on the rest of the room.

The smell of blood filled my nose, and I realised his claws were digging into the man’s neck. He made a gurgling sound, but Rayhan didn’t let up.

“Let’s cut it short. Whoever the fuck hurt that girl willingly, step the fuck forward!”

The power in his voice stormed through the room, and I could see the effect it had on the men throughout. At least fifteen men stepped forward. To my surprise, one of the guards did too. I didn’t remember him, though. My heart raced as Marcel sighed deeply. It was obvious he didn’t think there’d be so many. I was glad the majority didn’t. Rayhan threw the man to the ground.

“Next question. Who was compelled to hurt her yet didn’t feel any fucking remorse after?” he growled.

Another four…

“Alpha... it wasn’t like we had a-”

He was stopped when Rayhan was in front of him, punching him across the head. The man went flying, hitting the far wall. I flinched.

“Last fucking question,” Rayhan growled.

I watched him. The pure anger and hatred that were on his face made my stomach flutter. For me… he was doing this for me…

I didn’t even realise I was crying silently, staying hidden behind the alpha in front of me, watching my own alpha rule the room. Just watching, I could see how much power he had.

“Who still remembers the fucking pain they caused her?”

From the men that were left, save a few, the rest stepped forward. I smiled weakly. They had some humanity… I was glad the majority did.

“Great… at least we have some fucking humanity left,” Rayhan said icily, walking back towards me. His eyes softened despite still blazing green. “I would like you all to meet my mate, Delsanra.”

He took my hand and pulled me into his arms, snaking one arm around my waist as he glared at the room. He was showing me to the men before me, yet still protecting me. His large arms shielded me from their gaze. I clung to him tightly, hating how weak I felt.

A ripple of gasps went through the room, realisation finally settling into everyone.

“That’s…”

“For those who still feel some fucking remorse… let’s deal with those first,” Rayhan said coldly. I looked up at him. I didn’t want them to be held accountable. “I know, Kitten... but they at least owe you a fucking apology,” he growled.

One man stepped forward first, and I could see the pain in his eyes.

“I don’t think an apology will cover what I’ve done. I’m willing to be punished for it,” he said quietly.

“Good,” Rayhan said, letting go of me and walking towards him.

“Rayhan…” I pleaded. He grabbed the man by the collar and punched him across the face. “Rayhan!” I was about to step forward when Marcel shook his head.

“Don’t… he needs this,” he said quietly.
