“What the fuck, Harper?” He pulled his sister back by her shoulders and scowled down at her. “I don’t hear from you for days, so I drive home thinking something happened, and I find you here. With him.”
He shot me a dirty look which I returned with a smirk.
“It’s not what you think,” Harper exclaimed.
I snorted. “It’s exactly what you think.”
If Little Miss People Pleaser thought I was going to let that one fly, she was wrong.
Sean threw an angry finger up at me. “What did you do to her?”
“A better question would be, what haven’t I done to her.”
Oh, he didn’t like that answer. “Fuck you, Kessler.”
“Sorry,” I crossed my arms and sat down on the hood of my Corvette. “You’re not the Callaghan I’m interested in fucking. Isn’t that right, Freckles?”
Harper’s jaw dropped while Sean’s nostrils flared. I was wrong. This wasn’t interesting. It was fucking fun.
“Don’t listen to him, Sean.”
Freckles was starting to piss me off though.
“Yeah Sean,” I snidely sang back. “Don’t listen to me. Instead have a look under your sister’s jeans. I’m pretty sure my cum is still running down her leg.”
“Motherfucker!”
Here we go.
Callaghan charged past his sister while I pushed back onto my feet and got ready for the first punch.
“I warned you, Kessler.” His fist sailed through the air, narrowly missing my jaw as I ducked back. “Stay the fuck away from my sister.”
“She’s mine, asshole.” I twirled around, threw my forearm up on his shoulder blades, and smashed his face down on the hood of my car before leaning over and whispering, “Or did you forget Daddy already signed the contract?”
I may not like Sean Callaghan. In fact, I fucking hated the guy, but there was a reason he was a damn good football player. He knew how to take a hit and didn’t go down easy. The second I folded over him, he threw his elbow back into my gut. Then snapped his head up, cracking the back of his skull off my chin. That was enough to make me stumble back.
“Fuck your contract,” he growled while slamming his fist against my jaw. “I’ll be damned if I let my sister ever end up with the likes of you.”
We used to get in tussles all the time, but I had to hand it to the guy, he picked up some skills in college. Unfortunately, he still wasn’t as good as me. I bent down and charged forward, scooping him up with my shoulder, then knocking him back against his car.
If Logan was here he’d be crying right now at the sound of metal denting. That would’ve been better than Harper screaming at us to stop it. At least I wouldn’t feel bad then. But one look at the tears on her face caused my fist to freeze in the air.
Sean, however, either didn’t care or didn’t notice his sister’s state. He jumped back up and shoved me hard.
“What’s wrong, Kessler?” Another shove. “Can you only beat up little girls?”
My fist was flying before my eyes had time to snap back to his. “You’re a little too late to play the protector.”
My knuckles connected and Sean’s head twisted to the side as he stumbled back. Harper chose that moment to step between us and hold up her hands. “Stop it.”
“Get out of my way, Harper,” Sean demanded.
Gotta say, I’d never felt more satisfaction then I did when Harper shook her head.
“Please just stop.”
She’d listen to me, but she wouldn’t listen to him.
