My deep seated desire to get away won that fight. I kicked, screamed and clawed my way up onto the bed. And for a brief moment, I thought I might actually get away.

My heart lifted when my knees sunk into the mattress, and then fell back down when something clipped around me. I stopped and glanced over my shoulder. First, at the metal band around my ankle, and then at the chain attached to the bed.

How did I keep missing these things? I’d spent countless hours on this bed, and not once had I found bindings of any kind. It was dark, but I didn’t think I was that blind.

“How?”

“I told you, Pet, there’s no escape.”

I was starting to believe him. Especially when the corner of his mouth lifted.

“Besides,” he gave the chain a tug and tipped his head, “I wouldn’t want you running off before I’ve had my fun.”

The expression on his face told me that, that was exactly what he found this. Fun. The really messed up part was how my stomach churned when he winked and kissed the air.

His lips were full and appeared soft against the dark hair framing his mouth. A small part of me wondered if he’d taste as good as he looked. Perhaps that’s why I snarled at him.

“Do you like overpowering little girls?” I wanted to be disgusted, and I was. Just not at him. “Does it get you off?”

The smirk on his face deepened. “It does.”

I kicked my foot, tugging on the chain, and glared at the satisfied way his chest puffed out. “I can still fight you.”

“Maybe I want you to.”

Enzo caught me off guard by grabbing my ankles and yanking me towards the edge of the bed. By the time I’d gathered enough wits to right myself from flying back on the mattress, he was looming over me.

And not just looming, he was everywhere. Swallowing me up with his large form. It wasn’t too hard for him to wedge his way between my dangling legs.

“After all,” he pressed in, using his hips to force my thighs further apart, and dropped his hands beside my head. “How fun would it be to overpower a little girl that had no fight left?”

I gasped at the hardness pressing against my core. Suddenly I was nervous for an entirely different reason. It wasn’t something I could explain, only that I was fearful. But not of him. At least, not in the way I should be.

He dragged his hand along my collarbone and over my breast. When his finger twirled around my nipple, I couldn’t hold back the gasp, which he chuckled at.

“Look how fierce you are, Pet,” he sighed and flicked the stiffened nub, chuckling again at my reaction. “I’ve barely touched you, and you’re practically begging me for it.”

“I am not,” I argued, hating that his touch felt good.

“You’re not,” he grabbed my chin and folded himself over me, “but your body is.”

A weird thought occurred to me then. What if I disappointed him? My gaze landed on one of the names and dates inked into his skin. Would he kill me?

Don’t disappoint him, Kya. You need to get back to Angie.

Carefully, I lifted my head and pressed my lips to his cheek. A deal with the devil wasn’t as bad as leaving my sister alone. Besides, I kind of liked how it felt.

The warmth of his soft skin, and the coarse hairs dusting his jawline was an odd mixture. One my body seemed to like. That small contact caused a surge of sparks to pulse in my core.

Enzo, did not have the same reaction. His nostrils flared as he grabbed my neck and slammed my head back down on the mattress.

“Stop playing games with me.”

“I-I’m not.” Why was he angry? This was what he wanted, wasn’t it?

“You think your innocent little touches will make me stop?”

I’d seen that snarl before. It was the same feral look Ralph would get when he’d lost control. There was no talking someone down when they got to that point. Only surviving what came next.
