“Brothers you’ll never be rid of,” Tiernan added, smiling. Alyssa knew he missed his brother, even though he never talked about Liam.
“Brothers you’ll have to put up with,” Maddox added, his grin as big as his heart.
Rafe grabbed Alyssa by the waist and swung her up against his chest. “And what does that make you, Artemis?”
“The luckiest woman in the world.”
And to prove she was right, each of her guys kissed her, one after the next, as if they’d been together her whole life. It had taken her years to find them, but now that she had, she would never feel lost or alone again.
Epilogue
RAFE
“Welcome to the first day of Hell,” said the sexy instructor walking between the two perfect lines of trainees.
“I feel like we lived this before,” Tiernan said at Rafe’s side.
“We did. Except back in Nebraska and with a bear of an instructor. With this instructor, the shifters won’t know what hit them.”
“Even so, they’ll have it easier here in the middle of your pack.”
“Our pack, Tiernan. You have to get used to saying that or you’ll sound like you don’t belong.”
“I know. Alyssa keeps saying that as well. It just feels odd. We have a lot to adjust to. Like setting up a shifter training program on Anderson land. Not something any of us was trained to do.”
“Nonetheless, it was a good idea you had. We weed out the shifters who won’t be able to work with the humans, thus increasing the chance of the DSA’s program succeeding. And it solved the issue of Alyssa keeping her status as an agent without having to leave us.”
“I’m still surprised they pushed through her transfer from the Secret Service to the DSA,” Tiernan said.
“I was more surprised she accepted, considering she has to work with Gallagher.”
Rafe breathed in the fresh Montana air and clean scent of pine, still amazed that he had everything he ever wanted. His father had accepted him and his new pack, and his mate was thriving here. It was the perfect place for her to continue learning the shifter skills she’d never been taught without giving up her career. Alyssa glowed more every day as she learned about shifter life and quickly found her place among the expanding pack. And, to his surprise, no one condemned him, Tiernan, and Maddox for sharing Alyssa. Perhaps, best of all, the shifters here accepted Alyssa, despite her heritage. They even renamed her, introducing her to newcomers as Alyssa ‘Artemis’ Ang. Ang… an amalgamation of their names. Anderson, Novak, and Greyson.
Rafe winked at the sexy instructor, who threw him a smile back.
“You think that’s wise?” Tiernan asked.
“Letting those shifters out there know that she’s mine? Definitely.”
Alyssa walked up to a shifter twice her size and held her palm out flat, staring at him until he handed over what he was holding behind him. The shifter produced a pair of red lace panties.
“That’s not what I was expecting,” Tiernan said, sounding amused.
“That male better not be coming onto her,” Rafe said with a growl he didn’t even try to hide.
“She can handle herself. Trust her,” Tiernan replied.
“I trust her. Just not these recruits. They’re no different from the shifters in our training group at the DSA. See the shifter on the far end, with dark hair and eyes? A pure black wolf. I can’t tell if he just doesn’t want to be here or if he’s planning something. He’s been swearing at her when she turns her back on him. He thinks she’s human and doesn’t hear his comments.”
“She should tell them she’s shifter, so they’ll listen to her,” Tiernan said. “Give her the respect she deserves.”
“She wants to earn their respect, just like back in Nebraska. She expressly forbade me from interfering,” Rafe said. “She wants to be seen as human, to bring out their prejudices and help her figure out in advance who the problem candidates will be.”
“This is hardly appropriate attire, Ronan,” Alyssa said to the shifter holding the lace panties. “Did you steal these? Most female shifters don’t wear lingerie, so where did you get them?”
“That’s none of your business, human.”
Alyssa crossed her arms. “You’re here because your alpha sent you here to learn how to deal with humansbeforeyou get to the DSA training program. I’m human, and so far you’re not impressing me.”
