“I’m not allowed to say.”

Teagen reached out. Gavin caught her hand and kissed her palm. “We need to finish our date when you’re feeling better.”

“Mozely,” she said, the fear rising up so fast that the entire room began spinning.

“He can’t take you from us again. You’re officially part of our unit. And you have a job as soon as you’re healed.”

“Job?”

“Yup,” Harlis said. “No more hiding in pits or sneaking around. You’re officially assigned as East Side’s one and only mechanic. You report directly to the head of operations.”

“Who is that?” she said, her eyes too heavy to keep open.

“Me,” Bowen said, leaning over and kissing her forehead.

“It’s a nice dream,” she said, closing her eyes again. “Being with my guys. Walking in the sun.”

Harlis petted her hair. “Sleep, princess.”

“Don’t want to sleep. Bad dreams.”

The bed dipped as someone laid down next to her. An arm curled around her, and a deep voice said, “Sleep, Teagen. I’ll keep the bad dreams away.”

Teagen smiled. She knew Bowen would do as he promised. He always did. Everything would be all right. She was home with her guys, the three men she loved more than anything and anyone in the universe.

TEAGEN

Mozely chased Teagen through the jungle. She was running out of breath and he was gaining on her.

“Don’t touch me!” she yelled.

Hands moved over her face and neck, gentle and soothing. “Wake up, darling. You’re safe.”

Her eyes opened to beautiful gray eyes leaning over her. She leapt off the bed into Gavin’s arms, not caring that she was naked. They both had third shift off and planned to cook a late dinner for when Harlis and Bowen returned, but she was so exhausted that she’d fallen asleep while Gavin showered.

His arms wrapped around her, and he just held her until she stopped shaking. “The same nightmare?” he asked. He’d thrown a towel around his waist, but he still had shampoo in his hair. She must have been screaming really loudly for him to have heard her while showering.

She nodded.

“You haven’t had a nightmare in a while.”

After Mozely had attacked her, she had nightmares every night, except when she shared a bed with Bowen.

“Want me to see if I can pull Bowen from his shift early?” Gavin asked. “You sleep better with him in your bed.”

She looked around and realized she’d fallen asleep in Bowen’s bed when she had a choice of all three.

“I know he makes you feel safe,” Gavin said, his voice tinged with resignation.

She ran her finger lightly along the scar that went from his cheek down to his neck. He’d suffered because of her.

“Don’t ever think you mean less to me, Gav. You all make me feel safe. I just happen to like his bed best.” She pulled Gavin down on top of her. “But he doesn’t need to be in it.”

“Oh?” Gavin asked, his tone sounding hopeful.

“It’s the location in the center of the house, Gavin. I don’t feel as trapped as I do against the wall, nothing more.”
