“Don’t keep me waiting, Reece. I need you more than the air I breathe, and you’ve stayed away for a very long time.”
Again his eyes flew to the door, but there was no sound out there, only his fears scratching, maybe pounding on the door, threatening to tear him away. Melina took his face in her hands and pulled him down. He kissed down her jaw, his lips settling in the hollow of her neck as he slid into her, filling her as only Reece could.
Ivan, Jayce, and Zev. She loved them all, but Reece was her first and in some ways the most broken of her men. He didn’t think she could love them all equally, or maybe he thought that he wasn’t as worthy as the others.
“I love you, my gentle giant,” she whispered in his ear as his thrusts gained momentum.
Her body thrummed with electricity. Her hips rose and fell in sync with his, meeting him thrust for thrust, as if she were chasing some shooting star that couldn’t be caught.
Reece withdrew and slid down her body, planting his face between her thighs. What he did with his tongue, no man could learn or teach. He set her on fire and then fanned the flames as her fingers sank into his hair and held him there.
She screamed his name as her back arched and the most exquisite tension gave way to sheer bliss. When her body relaxed, leaving her in awe of her silent hero, Reece’s head lifted. His devilish grin made her swallow hard. Reece was far from done with her.
Without warning, he flipped her over, lifted her hips, and drove into her, balls deep, and fucked her hard and fast. Her hands clutched the bedding, holding on as he moved in her, making her entire body yield to him. That energy returned, slamming into her so fast she couldn’t slow it, even if she had wanted to. She loved that Reece felt at home with her, enough to take what he wanted.
As she yelled out again, she heard the most beautiful sound behind her.
“Een, Een. . .”
Reece stopped moving as her walls squeezed him. Unexpectedly, he pulled out and shot his warm cum onto her back. She crashed down on the bed, too tired to move, not that she wanted to. While she’d do anything in the world to give Reece his voice back, she’d missed this. The way he made his needs and wants known to her without words. He loved deeply, more than anyone else she knew, and she’d connected to him in a way she never expected she’d be with another.
Strong hands moved over her ass, caressing, kneading, and loving her slowly and with great care. Then her sweet lover surprised her one last time as he wrote on her back. Not his name this time, as when he originally claimed her, but a claiming, nonetheless. MINE. There was no question in his mind that she belonged to him.
As Reece collapsed beside her, swinging a languid arm about her waist, Melina drifted off, able to sleep at last. Content. Safe. Loved.
Chapter Six
JAYCE
Jayce hated returning to the bunker in the middle of the night. The place was too quiet, too deathlike, like a tomb. A reminder of Turul after Danning had trapped him. The room he’d been locked in had been filthy, with no fresh water or even a toilet. The silence there had been deafening. He would have taken a cell-mate, even a mute like Reece, for company, if he’d had the choice.
The slight smell of roasted casp with parsi root struck him the second he entered the bunker, but he’d lost his appetite. He’d heard about a naked woman being taken to one of the mines. About men assaulting her. There was only one woman on the planet. Somehow, they’d taken Melina.
“Where are you, you asshole?” Jayce shouted at the top of his lungs as he stumbled down the steps. He missed the last two steps and nearly face-planted. He grabbed the door frame and steadied himself.
Ivan, with nothing on but loose sleep pants, threw his door open and stepped into the hall. The man didn’t even have the good grace to look upset about what had happened.
“What the fuck, Jayce? Are you high?”
“You said you’d protect us, Ivan. All of us. Especially her.”
“She’s fine, Jayce. Everyone is.” Ivan folded his arms over his chest. “Except you, it seems. Are you on something?”
“Some soldier you turned out to be,” Jayce said, staring at Ivan who just stood there, spouting useless words.
Reece popped out of his room next. The ape had the nerve to be sleeping after what had happened tonight.
“I don’t know what you did in your former life before landing on our lovely little prison planet, but you suck dick, Crusher. You were supposed to protect her. We all were.”
Jayce slumped to the ground. “She’s gone. We failed her.”
“You’re not listening to me, Jayce,” Ivan said, pulling at his collar to get him to look at him. Jayce didn’t want to looking Ivan’s face, to see the accusations there. Jayce was as responsible as they were. He’d failed her.
“No, he’s never used drugs that I know of,” Ivan said in whispers down the hall.
“I might be high, you assholes, but I’m not deaf.”
“Fuck,” Ivan cursed. “Listen, Jayce, Melina’s right here, she’s—”
