Reece’s moans and Zev’s short curses echoed through the cave as pleasure rolled through her. Melina opened her eyes, seeing both Jayce and Ivan standing to either side of the cave entrance, watching as Reece had done earlier. Jayce had his hand on his cock, rubbing it in time with Reece’s thrusts, while Ivan rubbed himself over his pants. The moment she caught his eye, he lowered his pants, slowly, treating her to a show.

“Come for me,” Ivan’s deep voice commanded from where he stood, his heavy cock in his hands.

“Oh, Goddess. . .” she moaned as Reece reached forward and rubbed her clit.

“Feel that, Mel. Reece moving in you. From this day forward, every time he’s in your ass, you’ll remember this moment. You’ll remember me.”

“Yes,” she said as Reece exploded inside of her. He stood there, kissing her back as his cock pulsed. The most exquisite feeling of Reece sliding out of her set off a powerful orgasm of her own. She screamed Zev’s name, her pussy clenching his cock, drawing out his release.

Jayce and Ivan’s voices joined in, creating the most beautiful medley of her men together. Reece remained silent, except for the kisses that feathered her back. She was floating as she lowered her legs, Reece pulled her back against his chest.

Zev kissed her one last time and opened his mouth to say something. His face twisted as if he was fighting with himself. She understood Zev well enough to know he loved her, but for whatever reason, he couldn’t say it.

Instead, he looked at Reece and said, “Take care of her.” Dark eyes returned to Melina. “Take care of each other.”

Without another word, Zev tucked himself into his pants, grabbed his shirt off the ground, and headed out of the cave. He stopped at the entrance, gave a brief nod to Jayce and Ivan, a silent message passing between them before he disappeared down the mountain.

Chapter Eight

MELINA

Scientists didn’t destroy their work, not easily. Well, she didn’t at least. She couldn’t, not before she’d solved the puzzle of whether the anti-serilium permanently destroyed the serilium in bones or temporarily masked it. With each test she ran, her tattoo faded but always returned with the same intensity as the day she received it. She’d managed to lengthen how long the tattoo disappeared, which felt like a step in the right direction. Some would call what she was doing busywork, especially since she would never get the chance to use the anti-serilium, but working kept her mind off of Zev. By adding three ml of certozine to the mix, she’d stretched the fade time to a minute. It felt like an achievement, but in the grand scheme of things, it meant nothing.

Melina poured this latest batch of anti-serilium into a cup and lowered her essence stone into the solution. Perhaps it would be her downfall one day, but she couldn’t destroy all of her work, despite Ivan’s insistence. She had too many questions to answer, and one day she’d pursue the mystery. The bright red stone took on a shiny quality and darkened as it soaked up half of the RJIZ.

After retying the cord around her neck and letting the stone fall between her breasts, she poured the remaining anti-serilium back into its bottle. She loved looking at the “RJIZ” label as it reminded her of Jayce and his stupid joke. With a sigh, she slipped the vial into her coat pocket. Ivan thought it was too risky to keep in the lab, so today they’d destroy it. Well, most of it. No one would know she had a reserve in her essence stone.

“Night, Doc,” Davies said as she passed the guards’ security office.

“Goodnight, Davies.”

“When’s your next shift?” he asked, getting up from his monitors and approaching her in the hall.

The door leading outside where Ivan and Jayce would be waiting for her was a mere ten feet away, and that damn vial sat in her pocket like a fifty-pound rock. If Davies searched her, he’d find it.

“I’m not sure. My unit leader doesn’t tell me in advance.” That part was true, at least. Ivan insisted she keep all schedules secret, especially from the guards. He didn’t trust any of them since they all worked for Thorne. “Take care.” She smiled as she exited the med-center.

Outside, Jayce waited in his usual spot, though he was alone. He greeted her with a strained smile and a quick kiss on the cheek, which in itself was odd. Like Ivan, Jayce didn’t believe in public displays of affection, which she understood given how easily the prisoners could be riled. Nonetheless, the tiny hairs on the back of her neck rose. Jayce hadn’t been himself lately.

“What’s wrong?” she whispered.

“Nothing,” he said, his tone clipped. “Do you have it?”

The vial. “Yes. In my pocket. Are we throwing it in the serilium pits?” Placing the vial in the garbage at the med-center meant anyone could find it before their garbage was tossed into a lava flow. They were safer disposing it directly.

“No. Just walk.” When they left the med-center, they headed north. This was the direction Reece usually left with the hunters for their longer hunts. She didn’t recognize the area. As far as she knew, there were no buildings or facilities in this direction.

“I thought Reece was going to accompany you today.” They’d doubled up on security, always two of them escorting her since she’d been kidnapped.

“He’s busy.”

“Are you still mad at me, Jayce? For telling Ivan about what Danning did to you?”

“You don’t know what Danning did to me. Not all of it.”

As soon as they entered the forest on the edge of the camp, three men stepped into their path. Melina backed up, stopped only by Jayce’s hard body behind her.

“You’re late,” said a fourth man behind them. She turned, as much as Jayce would allow. He clamped his hands around her upper arms.
