Warmth and comfort, sweetness and spice, her kiss welcomed him and pulled him into such bliss that he lost his focus and missed the subtle shift of her hips. Her core was pressed right up against the tip of his cock, and she was rocking her hips slowly, on and off of him. It was perhaps the most erotic thing a woman had ever done to him.

He broke the kiss. Her lips were swollen, but her eyes were clear as was her intent. She needed him, as much as he needed her. His heart was racing, and his cock was beyond hard.

“I want to be inside of you, so fucking bad, Angel.”

“Then don’t keep me waiting,” she toyed, as she licked her lips.”

He ran a finger along her bottom lip. She sucked in his finger.

“I’ll take you again here soon, but not now,” he said as eased her legs apart. She parted for him eagerly. He slid his cock through her folds until he heard those moans he loved so much. There would be nothing better than sliding into his Angel and making her his.

“No condom,” he said, even as he stroked her folds with his cock.

Her hand squeezed her nipple as she bit her lip. “Claim me fast and hard, Blade. Make me yours.”

Slowly, he sank in, savoring how her warm flesh sheathed him like she was made for him.

He found a slow easy rhythm with her. It was that type of moment when he needed to touch and caress every inch of her, to watch her eyes close with peace and joy as he moved in her. He savored the pleasure of his hips meeting hers as he sank into her depths while finally becoming one.

Her back arched, and he held her as she gave herself over to her pleasure—and to him. This was what she needed, what they both needed. Not mere sex, but a connection, a oneness with his mate, the one person with whom he’d always share a connection. A connection they would ultimately seal with the blood-bond.

“How did I get so lucky to find you?” he whispered in her ear as he slid in and out of her with a slow, easy pace.

Her legs wrapped around him, locking together at the ankles. The new angle let him slide deeper. Her head fell back, baring her long, delicate neck to him as if she were truly submitting all that she was. The love of his life released a throaty moan as she squeezed his cock with her inner walls, pushing him over the edge, making him lose his ability to go slow.

Hard and fast, he thrust into her, the need to claim her fully paramount. Another breathy moan, this one against his neck, and she lost the rhythm as his hips slammed into her with an almost-frantic pace. The need to have her scream his name, to tell the world she was his, became paramount.

Her nails dug into his back, creating a burning need to claim all of her as she left her mark on him. His mouth found her soft, succulent lips. He nipped at her bottom lip before thrusting his tongue into her, claiming her as hard with his mouth as he was with his cock.

She broke the kiss, pressed her breasts against him as she held on, letting him fuck her hard and fast.

“Gonna come. . .”

“Not yet,” he growled.

“Can’t wait.”

The softness of her expression, the vulnerability and trust there did him in. He could never let her go. He pinched her clit, throwing her over the edge. She threw her head back as her body arched. She screamed his name as her walls squeezed him, wringing his seed from him.

He poured into her, experiencing the most incredible release. Delicate fingers sifted through his damp hair as he fell toward her, sated, but far from finished. With most of his weight on his arms, he claimed another quick kiss, enjoying how red her face and upper chest had turned, how breathless and utterly gorgeous she was after her orgasm.

Withdrawing felt so wrong, especially with the slight whimper coming from his Angel. Blade fell onto his side and pulled her against him tight. He wasn’t ready to let go, and he didn’t think he ever would be. He’d never let anyone take his Anna, his Angel, away from him. She was his, without a doubt, and no one would ever tell him otherwise.

Chapter Fifteen

BLADE

Blade opened the hatch and descended into the bunker. Anna was overdue for their agreed-upon lunch break. Though she seemed more relaxed now that he’d agreed to blood-bond, over a week ago, she continued her long hours. He didn’t want to accuse her of being a workaholic precisely. Driven. That was definitely a way to describe her, but her long hours in the lab had started to worry him.

Since they now planned to blood-bond, she no longer pursued a way to fix the damaged gene that caused a male shifter to turn feral; the blood-bond would repair the gene. Anna was content with that, but not with the fact that he’d lose his shifters abilities as a result of the blood-bonding. Blade understood her fear. Once he became a weak shifter, he’d be as vulnerable as her husband, and that scared the shit out of her.

“You’re working too hard, Angel,” Blade said when he found her sitting on the floor of the bunker’slibrary, a room with shelves of research journals and books, and another dozen or so boxes all neatly labeled and stored nearly ceiling high. She needed fresh air, sunshine, and time to de-stress.

“I don’t like being stumped.” Anna jumped up and started tearing through a box of folders. “I’ve unblocked the transfer RNA and yet I still can’t activate the genes. . .” she mumbled to herself as she rifled through papers in one thick folder. “I should have figured this out by now.”

“Anna?” Blade questioned what she was doing.

“I need to find that article I had on replication stress activating DNA repair synthesis in mitosis,” she said as she tossed the folder aside and fished for another. “Where did I put it?”
