“You got yourself a deal babe.”Gage agreed.
Stacey moved out of his arms and to the other side of the bed, clicking off the overhead light. She slipped into bed and was instantly pulled into Gage’s arms.No words were spoken.None were needed. They both just need the feel of being in each other’s arms. Both were thinking the same thing. They could have lost each other that night.Holding one another tight, Stacey and Gage fell asleep.

“That arrogant fool.”He growled, typing away at his laptop.
Anderson had fucked up and big time. Now, he had to scramble to make sure the plan was not foiled beyond repair. The silence of the dark room was only disturbed by the clicking of the keyboard keys and whispered muttering for the man.Four monitors were in front of him.Two on top and two on bottom.A horde of data scrolling up.Finally, the man sighed and leaned back in his chair.There.The plan, his plan, had not been compromised.Luckily, he had taken care of that before it could be.In the glow of the multiple screens, the man smiled.
“Soon, I will get what I want. Then my fun will really begin with Blackout.”
Chapter 22

Stacey sighed as sheslowly woke up.She surprisingly felt well rested, considering the ordeal she and Gage had gone through in the last forty-eight hours. The car wreck, her abduction less than a day later and then the events of last night. When she shifted a little, the strong arms that she had fallen asleep in tightened and pulled her back.Gage.Smiling, she snuggled back and felt him softly kiss along her neck.
“How did you sleep babe?”
“Good.You?”
“Good. How are you feeling?Your wrist hurt or anything?”
“Just a little, but nothing too bad.”
Gage had been careful the night before to keep her injured wrist elevated. He moved so she was now on her back, and he propped his head up with his hand.“Stacey, I don’t think I told you last night, but thank you.”
Stacey frowned, “For what?”
“For having my back with Anderson. For being my wing man.Well, wing woman.”
“You never have to thank me for that. You said yourself, it’s you and me.You have my back and I have yours. After Anderson called you, I knew I had to be ready for when you got there.I didn’t know what was going to happen, but I would be ready whatever it was.”
“I love you, Stacey. My dad was right, you are a warrior.”he said, stroking her cheek.
