"Thank you Krista."

"Um, shouldn't I be thanking you?" She teased.

He chuckled. "You really have no idea what doing that meant to me do you?"

She frowned and shifted so she could look into his eyes. "No. I thought it was what you wanted? Isn’t it? I mean you as much as said so the night you were hired by dad."

Ethan cupped her face. "Yes baby, don't doubt that I very much wanted this. What I meant was, you completely surrendering to me like that. It was a gift Krista. To know that you trust me that much, to know I would never hurt you.

Krista smiled, her eyes tearing slightly as the emotion in his voice pierced through her. "I do trust you that much. I love you Ethan."

"And I love you. I love you so damn much."

He kissed her so softly then. All his emotions pouring from him and straight into her. He pulled away and moved them down a little further down the onto the bed. "Ethan?"

"Yeah baby?"

"Well, since my shooting training has been delayed till tomorrow, what do you say you and I get a little more sleep then we spend the day together?"

"I think that's a great idea. What do you want to do?"

"Hmmm? What you say to us hopping on your bike and just going for a ride?"

"That sounds like a plan babe."

Krista smiled as Ethan grabbed his cell and shot off a text to his boys telling them what was up. After he sent the text, he sat his phone back down, wrapped her in his arms and the two drifted off to sleep once more.

Chapter 22

Krista had just sat the plates on the table when Ethan came downstairs. She just drank him in. He wore a simple white t-shirt, faded Levi's hugged those powerful thighs and delicious ass. He looked delicious as hell. His look was capped off with the black biker boots. She walked to him, gripped his shirt and pulled him in so she could kiss him.

"You look fucking hot Staff Sergeant Blackstone."

"Mmmmm, I think I like it when you call me Staff Sergeant."

"Better than Sir?"

He gripped her hips. "Hearing you call me either of those is hot."

She grinned and slipped from his arms to pour them each a cup of coffee. As she did, Ethan studied her. Her long hair was pulled back into a French braid. She wore a faded purple t-shirt and a pair of Levi's under her black leather chaps. What he wouldn't give to fuck her wearing nothing but those dammed chaps. He pushed the image away as her own riding boots sounded on his tiled kitchen floor.

"Let's eat, then hit the road." She said.

Nodding he joined her at the table. After they had woken up the second time, he had asked her where she wanted to go. All she told him was she wanted to just hop on his bike and go wherever the open road took them. They couldn't have asked for a better day for the ride. The sky was clear; the temperature was a comfortable seventy-five.

They quickly polished off their breakfast and coffee, Krista loaded the dishes in the dishwasher, before they grabbed their jackets and helmets and headed outside. Ethan held the back door open for her after she set the alarm and they walked toward his bike. As she pulled on her helmet, he checked the tank to make sure it was full before mounting his bike. Krista climbed on behind him as he fired it up. He revved the engine and tore down the drive, with Krista's laughter echoing in his ear.

Krista felt all the tension of the last few weeks vanish as Ethan navigated his Thruxton out of the city. She loved riding with Ethan. He was a natural on the back of a bike, almost as if he had been born to ride. Course he was natural at just about everything it seemed. He was a star athlete in school and obviously was successful in the Marines and now he was the boss of one of the top security firms in Austin, if not in the whole state of Texas.

She hugged him a little tighter as he hugged the winding roads of East Texas. Whenever she needed to clear her head, she would always hop on her bike and just ride. Taking the long winding roads, letting the road sooth the mess of her mind. She felt Ethan cover her hands with one of his and squeeze. Almost as if he could sense her feelings.

After about an hour, Ethan pulled off at a rest stop. She climbed off, and removed her helmet. "Hmmm, it's been a while since I've been a passenger on a bike."

"Oh really?" Ethan questioned with a raised brow.

"Oh don't be jealous. The last time I was a passenger was about four years ago and I was riding with Danny." She laughed.
