“I’ll see you soon then. Tell the people on the card that Christian sent you.”

“I will. Thank you again.”

Christian led Harmony back to the car and helped her into the back seat before crawling in himself and sitting close to her.

Harmony waited until they were out on the road in the traffic. “You were amazing back there.”

Christian looked down at her. “Baby, you’re the one who saw him. I’m ashamed to say I walked right by him.”

Harmony nodded. “It’s easy to do that. I hope he calls.”

Christian nodded. “I would bet he will. I saw a spark of life in his eyes at the end. I think he’s going to be a great asset to my company.”

Harmony pressed her hand to his chest. “You’re a good man.”

Christian leaned down and kissed the top of her head. “I have a feeling you make me a good man. Or maybe it’s a better man.”

Harmony smiled at the compliment. “I guess I should go home and pack?”

Christian shook his head. “No, we’re going straight home, Baby. The guys will pack it up tonight. I’ve got everything you’ll need.”

“Oh,” she murmured and looked out her side window. She turned back. “I’ll be able to go back and see everyone?”

“Yes, with the guys.”

She released a tense breath. “What about my roommate?”

Christian grunted and shuddered. “I will take care of Mrs. Owens and Sunny. I’m sorry, Baby, but Danny will have to do without you.”

Harmony sighed. She figured as much. “Can you tell the guys to leave several crackers in the corner of the kitchen for him?”

Christian burst out laughing. “I’m sure they’d love to do that for you.”

Harmony grinned. “Probably not. They both seemed afraid of the little thing.”

“They were. But I’m guessing they’ll do anything you need.”

“They’re good guys. Most of the time, they’re fun, but Nico likes to fight a lot with me.”

Christian grinned and shook his head. Nico had already told him about the arguments they had over who was paying. He guessed there would be a lot more quarrels between them.

Harmony grinned. “You know, if I could choose guys to have as brothers, they would be it. They get obnoxious at times, but for the most part, they’re enjoyable to be with.”

“I’m glad. They will be the ones with you the most,” he reassured her.

“I really don’t need them to go to school with me.”

Christian frowned down at her. “One thing that’s goingto be nonnegotiable is your protection. We’ll talk more about it later. Okay?”

Harmony nodded and tucked her head against his shoulder.

“You talked about helping Sunny?” Harmony asked.

“Yes, I have some things in mind. We’ll get her taken care of.”

Harmony hummed and closed her eyes. The sleepless night she’d had was catching up to her.
