Solana
Christmas Eve 2024 evening at Elio’s Apartment… (9:00 p.m.)
“Alright, I have all the presents and cupcakes in the car. Do you need help carrying the tamale trays? I still don’t know why you bought so many presents!” I shout while closing the trunk. Delaney exits through our front door, struggling with two heavy trays of tamales.
“Yes, please, abejita. They are so heavy and I don’t want to drop them,” she utters, watching her step as she approaches the car. I hurriedly assist her by snatching the top tray and opening the back seat door.
“Thank you so much. Okay, I think that’s everything. I have my purse, the gifts, the cupcakes, and the tamales. Was there anything else we needed?”
“I don’t think so. I think that was it. I’ll drive,” I state quickly.
“Solana, just say you hate my driving,” Delaney snorts, shaking her head as she opens the passenger side door and plops onto the seat.
“Well, bebé. You almost crashed the other day. Can you blame me?” I chuckle as she rolls her eyes and gives me an ugly look.
“Shut up. I’m not that bad. I got us home, didn’t I,abejita?”she states, her head tilted back as her hand forms a snapping Z formation to drag her point across.
“Barely,” I mutter.
“What did you say?” Her eyebrows lift, and I chuckle, shutting my mouth. I know when to quit while I’m ahead.
“Nothing, preciosa.Te amo.” I chuckle, blowing her a kiss. I reverse out of our driveway and cruise down the street to Elio’s apartment.(Nothing, precious. I love you.)
“Did we really have to take the car? I mean, it is down the street. We could’ve gotten the guys to help us with the stuff,” I said, facing her for a minute before refocusing my attention on the road.
“Come on, we can’t let them do that. However, they can pull it out of the car. You know what I’m saying,” she answers, chuckling as I park behind Adela and Riona. Shaking my head, I park my car and open the trunk.
Delaney opens her car door, and Ade, Davian, Dane, and Elio come piling out of the front door. I smile, shaking my head because Delaney was right. The guys can totally get the things from the trunk.
“Hey, do y’all need any help?” Davian asks, grabbing the trash bag filled with gifts.
“Yes, grab the presents, and I’ll take the cupcakes. Guys, can you take the two trays of tamales from the backseat? Thank you!” I shout over the two carrying cases filled with cupcakes.
“Hi, guys. How are you both doing?” Elio asks, giving Delaney and me a kiss on the cheek in greeting.
“Hey, Elio. We’re good. How was setting up for hosting your first Christmas Eve?” Delaney asks as we follow Elio and the guys to his apartment.
“It was eventful. Nereyda moved in the other day and now there’s a bunch of frilly shit all over the place,” he growls. I giggle and grin like a Cheshire cat because it’s starting. These two don’t see how perfect they’d be together. Look at me, talking like I didn’t have a hard time accepting the fact that I’m dating my twin sister.
“Hey, y’all! What’s everybody doing? Have y’all eaten anything yet?” I shout across the room to my girls when I notice Lena and her lovers in the kitchen.
“Ah, you’re here!” Lena screams, running towards me. We hug as Delaney clutches onto the two carrying cases filled with cupcakes. I hug her, and then she suddenly jumps on me, putting her legs around me. Well, it looks like someone is already a little tipsy.
“Okay, that’s enough. Unhand my girlfriend,” Tonio states, grabbing onto Lena’s arm.
“Hey, Tonio. It’s not my faultyour girljumped on me. Is she drunk?” I ask.
“I’mright here. Please stop talking about me like I’m not here. Don’t be jealous, Daddy. Mommy only has eyes for you, our girlfriends, and boyfriend,” Lena drunkenly mutters.
“Jesus, Lena. Not in front of everybody,” Tonio chastises, picking Lena up and throwing her over his shoulder, slapping her ass for good measure. The slap can be heard across the room due to her black latex pants. Everyone laughs as he carries her away and sits her on the couch. Their lovers follow, bringing Lena water and a plate of food.
“So, let’s get this party started. Sorry, we’re late, but someone decided they needed to wrap about sixty presents at the last minute,” I tease, looking at Delaney.
“Well, Solana, I would’ve gotten it done earlier, but you wanted to get nasty all day,” she jokes, raising her eyebrow at me. She knows I don’t particularly appreciate it when we share our sex life so out in the open, especially in front of the guys—they can be little prudes.
“Oh my God. Is everyone just going to shout about their love lives all day?” Elio asks, shaking his head.
