She smiled. “It makes me so happy when you talk like that.”

I touched my hand to her cheek. “I mean it, babe.”

I pulled her in and kissed her.

But one kiss led to another, like it always did whenever our mouths met, and then I was trying to take my clothes off—

“Derek!” Katerina shrieked, stopping me. “Don’t! You have to get to practice.”

I grumbled. “Yeah, but—”

“Come back hereafterpractice,” she said, giving me a naughty smile. “And I’ll be right here. I’ll be waiting for you, okay?”

“God.” I swallowed loudly. “Don’t say that.”

“Why not?” she asked.

“It’s gonna be a bitch trying to get through practice with a giant hard-on.”

She giggled. “You’re so dirty.”

I put my shoes on in a hurry. Then I was ready to go. “Well. This is it.” I smiled at her. “One last kiss.”

“Fine,” she said, caving in. “Onelast kiss.”

Our lips joined for one cruel second only, and then she shooed me out the door.

“Have a good practice!”

I sped and weaved through traffic to get to the arena as fast as I could, keeping an eye on the clock.

Damn, I might actually make it.

I pulled into the arena, my tires squealing as I tore through the garage. I parked in the players’ section and practically sprinted through the halls to make it to the locker room in time.

I burst through the door and the room applauded with sarcastic cheers.“Heeeeey!” “Reavo made it!”

“Yeah, yeah,” I grumbled, taking my seat and hurriedly stripping out of my clothes.

“Hey, Reavo.” Hathaway sat next to me. “What exactly did youdolast night?”

Shit, had word already gotten around? Did Emma and Austen say something?

“W-what do you mean?” I stammered, pulling up my jock strap.

“I assume you went somewhereafter you left my place,” Hath said.

“Uh …?” I gulped, unsure what to say. I’dplannedon telling Dane and Hath about me and Katerina—but not untilafterI had a sit-down with Niko to clear the air.

“Don’t play dumb, Reavo,” Dane said with a smile on his face.

If they know, they don’t seem too pissed about it.

“Must’ve been ahellof a party last night,” Dane continued. “C’mon, what’d you two do?”
