I whimpered, my knees going weak. From tired and exhausted to hot and ready to go—Derek could turn me on with the power of suggestion.

He pushed the bedroom door open. His hands flew up and down my body, swiping impatiently at the buttons and buckles and straps and bands that stood between me and him. My clothes laid in a trail from the door to the bed.

My back hit the mattress and the hockey player spread my legs.

“Damn,” he grumbled. “I’ve been rock-hard all day long.”

“Why?” I flirted, even if I knew the answer.

“Can’t get last night out of my mind.”

“You’resodirty,” I teased him.

The hot touch of his warm tongue teased my folds apart. Clenching a fistful of bedsheets, I shut my eyes and let myself sink down, deeper into the pleasure only he could give me.

Four days later.

At the kitchen counter, I poured a glass of red wine for Austen and Dane. They were both dressed up—suit and tie for Dane, and a smart and sassy cocktail dress for Austen—ready for a nice dinner and a night at the symphony.

“Did you change things around in here?” Dane asked, his eyes scanning the living room. “Looks different. Can’t put my finger on it.”

I made my way back into the living room with two glasses of wine. “I did.”

“Oh, I know! You got a new coffee table!” Austen said. “The old one was glass.”

“Good eye, Austy,” I said, passing Dane and Austen their glasses. “The TV is new, too.”

“Why, was something wrong with the old TV?” Dane asked.

I hadn’t told the boys that Niko trashed my place, nor did I see a reason why I should tell them. The kid knew he’d made a mistake and was doing everything in his power to fix the situation.

“Nah,” I said. “Just wanted something bigger.”

“Size queen,” Dane joked.

I joined them on the couch, but the second my butt touched the cushion, the door-bell rang again. “That’s them.” I hopped up and hurried to the door.

“Heeeeeey!”It was Hath and Emma. Hath looked sharp in his suit, and Emma’s glitzy gold dress sparkled.

I greeted the couple with a hug. “You guys look great. Come on in. Can I get you some wine?”

“Sure.”

Hath and Emma joined Dane and Austen in the living room, and the room was suddenly bursting with lively conversation and laughter.

“Look at us!” Emma said, wine in hand. “Everyone looks so good!”

Austen agreed. “Yeah, I’m so glad Katerina had this idea. We need to go to the symphony more often. Great excuse to dress all sexy and fancy.”

“Speaking of, where is Katerina?” Emma asked. She patted a shopping bag that she kept under her arm. “I brought her a gift.”

“She’s still getting ready,” I said, glancing at my watch.

One of the things I’d learned about Katerina over the past four days was that she takes a little while to get ready. I know some guys like to complain about that, but I couldn’t care less—to tell you the truth, I actuallylikeit. Because whenever she doesemerge from our bedroom, she never fails to take my breath away.
