I grab her hand and squeeze. “You can come cuddle these two anytime. Or you can get your own cat. I think your landlord would be lenient.”
She stiffens a little and stops petting Bean, who lets out ameowin protest. “Can we even date if you’re my landlord? That’s got to be a breach of lease—”
“We don’t have a lease—”
“Oh God. What if we break up and you don’t want me to live there anymore?”
“Hey.” I gently squeeze her hand. “Look at me.” She turns and meets my eyes. “I don’t plan on breaking up. Okay? And if for some reason we did, I wouldneverjeopardize your living situation. If you’d like my lawyer to draft up a lease, I will do it. But know your living arrangement is safe.”
“Sorry, that was probably overly dramatic, but I justreallydon’t want to have to live with my parents again.”
Apparently bored with our serious conversation, Bean and Bagel simultaneously leap off the couch and dart from the room.
Hannah continues, “I don’t need a lease. I trust you.”
I nod, unsure of what else to say. I love that she trusts me, and I hope I never lose that trust.
“So… before we were interrupted,” she turns and faces me, using her sock-covered foot to run up my leg, “you were saying something about wanting me for sex?”
Just like that, the tension in the air is back, and my cock stirs, remembering how perfect she felt against me.
I run a hand up her thigh. “I was saying I don’t want you to think I want youonlyfor sex, but if you wereinterested…” I trail off, feeling the heat of her skin under my palm. If I slid my hand up just three inches my fingers would be able to feel the heat of her pussy, too.
“I’ve only ever been with Liam. I might not be… good,” she whispers, like it’s a shameful thing.
I shake my head. “First things first, Hannah. I never want to hear that douchebag’s name—or any other person’s name for that matter—when my hand is so close to your pussy. Second, that doesn't bother me. I want to pleasureyou.I wantyou.Exactly as you are.”
Hannah pulls her bottom lip between her teeth while she thinks about it.
It feels like hours before she finally grabs my face in her palms and says, “Please be gentle with me.” Then she brushes her lips against mine.
Chapter 30
Hannah
Morgan kisses me in a way that can only be described as meticulous. Like he wants to know every ridge of my lips and every taste bud on my tongue. It’s equal parts hungry and savoring, and it’s something I’ve never experienced before. I’ve never been kissed by someone who wants me so badly.
“I’ll be so gentle with you, Butterfly,” he says between kisses. “Does that mean I can take you to my bedroom?”
“Yes, please.”
He stops kissing me, stands, and takes my hand, leading me up the two sets of stairs to the top floor of his house. I didn’t come up here last time, and it’s dark, but with the little strips of lights running along the floorboards, I can make out picture frames hanging on the walls. There are two doors on the right and two doors to my left. On the left, I can tell one belongs to Aly because it’s painted a bright teal. I assume the other is Morgan’s office, and the one on the right is a bathroom.
Morgan leads me to the last door and opens it to reveal his bedroom. When he turns the light on, I can see it’s painted a soft gray color, has the same flooring as the rest of the house, and the bedding on the king-sized bed matches the color of the walls. Two matching side tables sit on either side of the bed, and there are pictures all over the walls.
Morgan steps toward me to kiss me, but I stop him. “Wait!”
“What’s wrong?”
“Do we have to keep the light on?”
“No,” he says slowly, “but is there a reason you don’t want me to see you?”
I suddenly feel extremely self-conscious. “My ex never left the light on during sex, and he told me it was because he didn’t find my body attractive, so I just… don’t want you to think the same thing.”
He moves around me to turn the light off, and I feel equally relieved and disappointed.
But then he goes to the bedside and turns the lamp on. “I find every single thing about you attractive, Butterfly. We can keep the lights off, but I’d really like to see what I’m eating.”
