Cole’s face crumples. “Who says we can’t do both—though preferablynotat the same time.”
With one last look around to make sure we’re alone, I strip. Cole licks his lips like a panther waiting for its next meal.
Faerie water flows along my skin. It’s lighter than I’m used to, and warmer than I expected. I dive under the surface and hum, the smoky taste of charcoal detectable on my tongue.
Cole chases me down the length of the basin and grabs me from behind in a bear hug. My heart somersaults. It’s still so new, so foreign for us to touch so freely. I try to live every moment to the fullest, knowing this quite literal honeymoon phase will soon pass.
Reality awaits. I can’t stay in Faerie forever, can I? I have a duty to Beth to expose her real killer, and I can’t drop out of school. Allie needs me to knock some sense into her. Faerie time zones might not work in my favor much longer, and I can’t afford to lose my head.
I kiss Cole hard to forget about the outside world for one more minute. He hauls me onto a flat rock on the opposite side of the platform. Droplets sprinkle my breasts, and Cole drinks them off my skin one by one. We kiss until we’re breathless.
His nails streak along my ass, and I let out a ragged moan when Cole pins me down.
His slick, hot breath caresses my ear. “Flynn is at the top of the stairs.”
Eyes wide, I stiffen in his arms. I can’t see the top of the stairs from here—nor the windows of the lodge, but birds fly overhead, maybe disturbed by Flynn’s arrival. The heavy rush of the stream drowns out all sound.
Cole holds my hands above my head to prevent me from fleeing. “He came to talk, I’m sure. But now that he knows what we’re doing…” He punctuates his statement with a grin, slipping all the way inside me .
I bite my bottom lip to stifle a groan and wrap my legs around him.
“He’s contemplating his options, probably wishing he could strike us both from his heart.” Cole rests his forehead on mine, moving inside me so languidly it drives me half-mad.
The roof of my parched mouth itches with thirst. “Oh?”
Cole nibbles on my ear. “Don’t pretend that you don’t know. Flynn is smitten with you. I saw it as soon as you two arrived.”
I swallow hard. “He lovesyou.”
Cole switches both my wrists to one hand. “Yes, but he also envies me. He both wants to bewith meandbe me. It fucks with his brain.” His free palm glides down the hollow of my neck to my belly button. “Did you like it? When you kissed him?”
A nervous stutter whizzes out of my lungs. “Err—Flynn annoys the fuck out of me.”
Heat builds in my chest, my breasts so full and heavy that Cole’s caresses turn to sweet, sweet torture. I could easily break free from his hold if I wanted, but I love the predatory look on his face.
Mischief and desire mingle on his breath. “That’s not what I asked.”
Isn’t he angry that I kissed his friend? My ribs rise and fall. “Why are you saying it like it’s a good thing?”
“Why are you so wet?” he chuckles darkly.
I can’t deny how close I am to a blinding orgasm. My body craves all the kinks my mind was taught to avoid, and the fact that Flynn might actually be watching totally riles me up.
Cole teases me, one deep stroke at a time. “You asked me once if Flynn and I used to fuck. You’ve clearly thought about the possibility…”
My lids flutter. I’ve thought about it a million times. It drives me wild and liquifies my gut, but I can’t bring myself to say it.
Cole stops, and my hips thrash in disappointment.
He twists my breasts with his large hand, each wicked pinch peeling away my embarrassment. “What happens in Faerie…”
“...stays in Faerie? Is that—” I groan as he switches sides again—“what Fae marriage is like?”
A heavy breath rushes past my collarbone. “Only if you want it to be.”
By the Dark Gods! He’s actually asking.
My gaze flies to Cole’s tattoos, and despite the heat in my belly, I shake my head. “I told you before…one psycho at a time, thank you very much.”
