Bikers & Surprises

Three months later…

As we drive down the winding snow-covered roads, I look out the window, taking in the scenery. I love when it snows, which makes me think of something I want to buy. Turning to Dario, I smile, which makes him raise a brow at me, but it's Jamie who speaks up first. “What is it, Princess? You have that look on your face,” he says, and I laugh, rolling my eyes, looking at him over my shoulder.

“What look is that?” I smirk, and he shakes his head.

“The look of I want something and we don’t have a choice in the matter,” Spade adds, and I laugh.

“That would be correct,” I say, but I look at Dario, running my nail down his strong jawline.

“Spill it, Kitten. What do you want?” he growls.

“Can we buy snowmobiles?” I ask, and they all laugh. What the fuck?“Why are you all laughing at me?” I pout, folding my arms over my chest.

“Because I don’t know why you ask. You have more money than God. If you want snowmobiles, go buy them. We would never tell you no, Babygirl.” Spade laughs.

“Yes, I’m well aware, but I don’t know. I just like making you guys aware of my wants and needs,” I say, and Jamie growls, taking my words and spinning them into something dirty in his head. He’s been doing so much better lately. Keeping busy at Callaghan Enterprises—hating it—but he’s also been in the lab working on the drugs he made. Ever since his mental break, he’s been a little calmer and more attentive than normal, which is nice to see. He’s been spending a lot of time with Hazel. I think a part of him feels guilty for Haven, so he’s trying to make up for the things that were out of his control.

“I’m stopping at the next gas station to gas up since someone was too busy last night to take care of this shit before we left,” Dario growls, eyeing Spade through the rearview mirror.

“It’s fine, I want a snack and a drink for the rest of this trip anyway,” I tell him, and he nods as Spade laughs behind me.

“You’re lucky,” Dario murmurs, and I can’t help but shake my head and look back out the window as we drive. I’m so glad Ophelia agreed to be our live-in nanny because we wouldn’t have been able to get away for the weekend if she had said no. It’s been pretty quiet these past couple of months as we all have gotten into the swing of things with the kids and balancing life outside of the home. It’s actually been great, and I couldn't have chosen better men to share this life with.

Today, they whisked me away to finally show me the compound. I’ve only been begging for months to see it, but Dario insisted it wasn’t ready yet, so to say I’m excited as fuck to relax with my men, preferably naked the entire time, is anunderstatement. Luckily, the compound isn’t too far from the house, so if an emergency arises, we can be back rather quickly. Plus, the fortress is safe between Ryder hanging back with Ophelia, along with some of my soldiers I had sent over from Ireland. We said we needed more security, so I made it happen in-house. In just a few months, I’m officially taking over as queen. I’ve been the queen for a while now, but we are having the official ceremony, and my father is stepping down and handing me the dagger. Am I nervous as fuck? Yes. Am I going to kill it as the ruler of the IRA? Absolutely. I can’t wait to bring a certain someone to their knees.

We pull into the gas station, and I look back at the guys. “Anyone want anything?” I ask, and they all shake their heads. I grab my card and hop out, fixing my thigh high leather boots and black fur coat, whipping my long black hair over my shoulder and out of my face, which is of no use as the wind just blows it back to where it was. I huff, walking across the lot and into the store. The door rings as I enter, and the lady at the register smiles at me. I give her a nod of my own as I head down the aisle for a drink. Grabbing a Dr. Pepper and Reese’s Sticks, I wait in line to pay for my items. The low growls of bikes has my head turning to look outside and I see about five young guys pull up next to the G-Wagon.I smirk because this will be interesting.I pay for my things and step outside into the frigid air. Walking towards my truck, whistles echo through the lot and I grin.

“Hey, Little Mama,” one says as another cat calls me.

“Yo, shorty, want some power between those sexy legs,” he asks, licking his lips, and I raise a brow, glancing over at my truck. The windows slowly roll down as Dario and Jamie stick their heads out, each pointing a gun at the guys while Spade hauls his whole body out of the opposite side of my truck to aim over the top with his own gun. I laugh and look back at the guys on the bikes.

“Umm–” but another interrupts me and walks into my space. The metallic clicks of guns cocking and the sound of the doors opening has the guy taking a step back.

“You’ve got the wrong female today, boys. Better luck next time.” I laugh, walking past them. They all have a look of fear in their eyes as they hold their hands up in surrender.

My men don’t say a word or move an inch until I’m safely back in the truck, opening my bottle of soda. Dario and Jamie put their pieces away and get back inside, then Dario puts the G-Wagon in drive and pulls out of the gas station.

“Jesus, you are all cavemen!” I laugh but they don’t. “Would you guys lighten up? They’re just young boys with no experience talking to girls. You were all there at one point,” I say, and Spade laughs.

“I’ve always been smooth, Babygirl.” he says, and I shake my head. Reaching over, I grab Dario’s hand and look over at Jamie who is staring at me like I’m going to vanish.

“Calm down, Jamie. It’s alright,” I try to assure him but he growls.

“I don’t like the way he spoke to you. D, turn around. I’d like a word with him,” he commands, and I look at Dario and shake my head.

“Don’t you fucking dare,” I say but he smirks, pulling a bitch and heading back to the gas station.

“I swear to God. Have you all lost your damn minds?” I ask, but they don’t say shit. We just pull back into the parking lot, blocking in the guys on the bikes. Jamie is the first to hop out before Dario can even put my damn truck in park.

“Spade, fucking stop them. Jesus Christ," I whine, and he laughs.

“Not a chance, Little Wifey. Sit tight while the men take care of business,” he says, hopping out behind Rio. I lean over the console, rolling down the window to listen because I'm a nosybitch. Jamie grabs the guy that stepped into my space by the collar, pressing him against the pump as Dario and Spade have their guns to the other twos’ heads, leaving the rest standing there dumbfounded.

“You owe my wife an apology, shit stain. Don’t ever talk to a female like that again, especially one of her stature,” Jamie spits.

“Little Mama, is that what you called my wife?” Dario growls, and all their brows hit their heads. I cover my mouth with my hand, hiding my laughter. My men are such children, it's ridiculous.
