I let out a tired exhale when I finally get in my seat and when I roll my head to look at Lauren, her eyes are already on me. I give her a wink and she starts biting on the inside of her lip. I reach over and pull it out, knowing something has her anxious.
“What’s the matter?” I sit up straighter, giving her my full attention.
“Nothing, just uh…” She looks around the plane and then leans in a little closer. “Were you okay with…with, you know?” This might be the first time, outside of the peeing situation of course, that I’ve ever seen Lauren lookshy. I get the mind to push her buttons and make her squirm, the way I did when I first got to Coleson’s, but this isn’t something I want her feeling uncomfortable about. So I lean closer, whispering in her ear as my hand rests on her thigh.
“Was I okay with you calling me Vince when I was claiming you in an airport bathroom?” I watch her throat work as she swallows and her eyes cut over to mine. Her head nods so subtly I almost miss it. “Yes, Trouble. I was okay with it.”
“Did you…like it?” She’s choosing her words carefully, which is new for her since she usually says whatever the hell she wants to me.
“Yeah, actually. I did. You’re the only one to ever call me that, and I’d be happy if you remained the only one.”
“So, if it…slips. That’s okay?” I smirk at her and grab her chin.
“Call me Lucifer, call me asshole, call me Fitz, or call me Vince. If you’re calling, baby, I’m gonna answer.” I press my lips to hers, feeling her beautiful smile against my lips when I pull away.
“Okay,” she whispers.
“Okay.” I smile back. Then I buckle her up, and she wraps herself around my arm, settling into the flight back to Nashville.
I only hope this doesn’t all go away when we get back to business. Because this trip was definitely full of pleasure.

Leah, marriage is so far off the table, the table is still a tree. Shane, I would never do that, if I’m getting married, my girls are gonna be there. No questions asked. But again, we are NOT there.
