Edur announced loudly. “If I wanted to share, I would have invited you, Ziam.”
Now that was a hell of an idea. Edur’s brutality enhanced with Ziam’s sweet nature. That had all the makings of a good time.
Ziam’s eyebrow quirked, as he read my face, but went on as Edur demanded. Edur pressed a languid kiss to my lips. It was meant to be slow and calm, but my body still responded to him. Edur growled. “I forgot how needy you witches are.”
I smirked against his lips. “Is that a problem?”
Edur gave a husky chuckle, and backed away from the tree, opting to carry me like that. “Not at all.”
His cock was already rising to the new occasion. He stepped into the lake, and the warm water felt refreshing. He turned me in his lap, so I faced away from him. He pointed to the beautiful blue lake. “This was what I meant to show you.”
This place was so vibrant with lush greenery that I should have realized the water would be the same. Perfect clear blue reflected the sun’s light beautifully. “It’s gorgeous.”
“You keep walking around the property, but you should explore the inside of this place a little more.” He adjusted my thighs so he could impale me with that cock I was already growing a fondness for. “Just like I am going to do with you.”
Chapter 9:
Esmerey
I laid on top of a hill, letting the sun’s rays wash over me. The soft grass tickled my skin as I relaxed into the earth.
“It is nice to see you taking a break.”
My eyes followed the sweet, gentle voice to find Goddess Mirneax laying beside me. Her golden skin glowed under her light, and her flaming hair covered her nude body.
“To what do I owe the pleasure of your physical presence?” It wasn’t too uncommon for her to appear before me, but anytime she did, there was a reason for it. This wasn’t a casual visit to see how I was.
She swallowed. “I am facing a lot of backlash right now for my children going rampant.”
“A goddess gets backlash?”
“More than you know. I am here to let you know that Bria’s demanded I release any claim on your future daughter’s soul or she will initiate another God War.”
“Bria?” I sat up. This might explain why she helped me the other night.
“She is not a goddess you want to incite wrath.” Mirneax nodded. “If I am honest, she belongs to Bria anyway.”
“Why are you telling me?”
“Since this particular demand directly impacts you, I thought it would only be fair.”
“So, she made other demands as well.”
“We are all having to compromise a little to make Bria happy.” Mirneax’s beautiful face twisted with shame. “I personally feel like I should oblige whatever she asks for, since it is my children causing the most strife.”
“Why not tell the sol witches you aren’t backing my mother?”
She gave me a sad, disappointed look that made me want to go to my room and think about what I did. “If I have to sit there and tell them right and wrong, they will always waver whenever the winds change. They need to learn on their own.” She swallowed harshly. “Or they will meet justice at Bria’s sword.”
“My daughter?” Gods didn’t wield weapons. Anytime they said that, they meant either a witch or a creature of their own making. Last time gods said they would wield swords, they created wyres.
“This world will live and thrive under your next child’s mercy, and it will crumble and die by her wrath.” After staring into the distance, her fiery eyes fell on me with a smile. “Do not misunderstand. Your child’s soul is kind and forgiving. She can help heal this world. All the gods vied for her. I have never seen so much arguing over one servant.”
“When does this happen?”
“Not anytime soon. I requested that her soul stay with nature until things here have cooled. This is not a world mercy thrives in. I do not want her to be born too soon and be forced to cut all my children down because of it. Bria has agreed.”
Every Petriv in history served Mirneax. Bria was an unknown entity. We knew she existed, and she was essential, but that was about it.
