But now there was a new thief, because as soon as I saw the text preview I gasped in shock.
Nicholas:
Will you come with me for a private tour at The Clark in two weeks?
I thought the butterflies had been replaced by woodpeckers.
A man wouldn’t be making long-term plans with you if he wasn’t interested. Let alone, asking you to do things that heknewwas your jam. In my case, art and art museums were my jam. And I had a sneaking suspicion that even though Nicholas seemed to enjoy it all, that he was doing it in part because he knew that I liked it.
I hadn’t let that thought fester too much though, because it felt too self-centered.
But a private tour of The Clark museum? That was kind of a big deal, something I never would have even thought to see about doing. It however wasdefinitelysomething that I would love to do.
After my eyes focused on the phone again, I read the rest of his text message.
Nicholas:
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will definitely be included. And if there’s time, I will also get us a private tour of MASS MoCA, but I think The Clark is more US.
Nicholas:
We could stay the night in Williamstown too if you want.
Nicholas:
Say yes.
My jaw would have hit the floor if I wasn’t already lying down on it.
Who was this man?
Before I could even try to come up with an answer to that question, let alone reply to him, he hit me with another text.
Nicholas:
My schedule will get pretty jam-packed after that weekend, but the next two consecutive days I’ve got off, what if we drive up to the Adirondacks, maybe around Lake George, we could do one of our next workshops there and paint the lake. There’s a great hotel up there, The Sagamore, we should stay there.
Nicholas:
You know what?
Nicholas:
Forget The Clark. Let’s hit up Lake George instead in two weeks.
Now he was rapid-firing the texts my way.
Nicholas:
We could work on acrylics when we go. Here, look at this website

Nicholas:
There’s a cottage they have on property that’s quasi private, it’s better than the rooms in the hotel or condo-type rooms because there won’t be any neighbors. Or I could see about getting us a house on one of the islands. Which would you prefer?
