“It’s always the same party at the same place,” Brennan grumbled.

“I know. If I have to go to the HighTower one more time…” Frank sighed, then stood. “Anyhow, I’m here, Bren, okay?”

“Okay.”

With one last look at me, Frank left. I wrapped my arms around Brennan, comforting my mate.

“Do you think he’ll really give you what’s yours from his side?” I wanted to believe Frank. But I also didn’t want to see Brennan hurt because it was some trick of the Queen Mum’s.

Brennan nodded slowly. “It would be a start.”

“He said he was proud of you,” I added. My phone buzzed.

Evan

Wrapping up. I’m on my way.

“He did. Wow, Katie was right.” He texted someone, probably his sister.

“Can we come in now? We have the food.” Wes came in and put the food on the meeting table and moved his and Riley’s laptops.

Riley dumped a bunch of drinks on the table.

“Evan said he’ll come over soon,” I added, glad we got some food for him.

“Good.” Brennan looked relieved.

“I think after we eat and Evan arrives, we should pack our shit and take the jet regardless of what Spencer says,” Wes said as he dug into his burger. “I’m not sure what else we can do from here and we know where they’re staying. We can always go to the hotel and wait for them.”

“I mean, there are things that I want to do to this Adriana person.” Riley took a loud drink of lime soda.

“Me, too,” I agreed, grabbing an energy drink.

“Perhaps later, once Grace is safe. Um, the sister pack wants to form an alliance,” Brennan added, looking at his phone.

“I mean we already sort of have one?” I shrugged.

“I like them. Do you think they’ll let me babysit? I’d be a good babysitter.” Riley shoveled more food in her mouth.

“Yeah, I mean why wouldn’t we have an alliance with them?” Wes nodded. “I think you’d be a good babysitter, too, Ri.”

“I’ll let her know that we’ll form an alliance.” Brennan texted her.

We continued to eat our burgers and fries. Well, Brennan had onion rings.

“So, are we going to Grace?” I asked. “I think we’ve done all we can here. Spencer shouldn’t have to deal with everything alone.”

Brennan looked at Wes. “You’re right. Wes, go ahead and steal the jet or whatever. Grace is one of us, and we should be there for her.”

Chapter Forty-Nine

Grace

My entire existence had been dumped upside down, as I continued to sob into the professor’s shoulder. If he was my dad, then I was from this world, and everything they’d been telling me about being a gamma, an omega whose body wasforced to stop developing, was true.

I was from this world.

And somehow ended up in another.
