“That’s it, feel it like it’s an extension of yourself.”
I watch my little wolf concentrate as she moves her head back and forth, holding a tendril of her power and controlling it.
Sweat dots her forehead, showing that she’s working hard.
And she is.
We have been doing this any spare chance we get, Rhea not wanting to let up because she feels so helpless.
I know she wants to go to the kid. I can’t pretend like I understand because I don’t. But he’s important to her so therefore, I need to make sure we can get to him when we can.
“How do you hold yours so steady?” Rhea asks, hands on her knees as she pants.
I lift a hand and show her, moving my power this way and that, moving it towards her to wrap around her wrist.
She smiles down at it, hand stroking it.
“It is mine, I control it like I control every other part of myself.”
“Not everything you can control,” she mutters, pointedly looking at my crotch and I bark out a laugh.
“That is all you, little wolf. I cannot help what you do to me.”
She turns, but I catch the smile on her face.
Little shit.
I send more power out around her and bind her legs. She falls face-first into the grass.
“It is rude to call out someone’s erection.” I stride past her as she grumbles, pulling at my magic until she gets it to release her.
“Asshole.” A ball hits my back, and I whip around to her.
“Oh?” I ask, lifting a brow in challenge, a thrill going through me.
She huffs, calling her power to her hands that are glowing a soft blue.
I chuckle, and then I go for her.
She didn’t expect the move, she thought we were going to throw magic at each other.
No.
I will hunt her.
She squeals in surprise, throwing her magic at me anyway before she takes off into a run.
The lightness in that sound makes my chest expand, a purr joining it at knowing the happiness she just felt.
I need to make more of it.
She runs through the fields, dipping in and out of the willow’s branches.
We always come back to this place, always surrounded by her favorite flowers.
“You cannot hide from me, little wolf,” I say, as she runs behind a tree, moving further out into the woods there.
“Are you tired?”
