I growl, nipping at her throat as she releases a soft moan.

“Hi,” she whispers, her hand coming up to the back of my neck and stroking there. I shiver.

“Found you, little wolf,” I murmur the first words that I ever said to her. She releases a small laugh at that, turning in my arms and going on her tiptoes to place a gentle kiss on my lips.

Well, that won’t do.

I hold her close to me, my hand going to her jaw to keep her still as she parts her lips for me and lets me in.

I groan at her taste, at the wildness that is always there, and I press her back into the tree, letting her onlyfeelwhat she does to me, my cock straining in my pants, but also what she means to me.

I kiss her like I can’t breathe without her, because I can’t.

I kiss her like she holds my heart within her, because she does.

And I kiss her like she’s everything, because she is.

I break the kiss and Rhea looks up at me, her lips puffy, cheeks slightly red and I run the back of my fingers down them.

“Come,” I say, grabbing her hand and leading her.

“Where are we going?”

I smile. “Somewhere we will not be disturbed.”

“But don’t we need to plan? I know we still need to distribute some weapons, and we are waiting for those in Colhelm—”

I turn, placing a possessive kiss to her lips. “Little wolf?”

“Yeah?” she breathes, looking slightly dazed.

“Hush and let me take care of you.”

Her eyes bounce between mine before she says quietly, “okay.”

“Will you braid my hair when we eventually leave for Wolvorn?” I ask Darius, as he washes us in my cave.

His fingers freeze briefly before resuming. “I am not very good at it, you know this.”

“You’re getting better.” I tip my head back when he guides me, washing the suds out. “Vallier,” I whisper, looking up at him from where I float in the water.

His eyes come to mine, and I see the moment he relents. I smile.

“Sneaky little wolf, you know I cannot resist your eyes.” He tries to sound stern, but he fails.

We are silent as he continues to wash my hair, taking more time than needed and I get it, we don’t know what will happen tomorrow.

We don’t know if we will ever see this cave again…the wisps…or play in a field of lesia flowers.

“If anything were to happen to you…” I voice the thought that has been rolling through my mind since we decided to attack Wolvorn.

We have spent so much time as enemies, I want to spend time as Vihnarns. I want to experience peace with him. I want him to feed me as I feed him, I want to run with our wolves and as wolves. I want a simple life with him by my side.

When I fell off the cliff, I thought that was it, so to be able to be back here, with him and my family, only to then have it ripped away from me again…
