He is one of the main monsters in my story, and he happily played it.

“I’m not used to having you in my head,”I murmur to Darius, trying to distract myself as we wait.

I can hear the grin in his reply.“I’ve been waiting to be in yours.”

I look to him then, but his eyes never leave our enemies.“How long?”

“Since the moment I met you I have wanted to be inside of you in any way I can.” He side-eyes me.“This is one of them.”

“Possessive”

“Attentive.”

“How so?”I laugh. He always has something to say.

“You are my Vihnarn.”I shiver at those words, feeling the warmth on my arm that is now forever marked.“It’s my job to take care of you, know your needs.”

“Being able to be inside my head won’t tell you that.”

“It will, because I can ask you anything no matter the situation or circumstance. I could lose my voice and I would still be able to talk to you.”

“You would never lose your voice.”He’s too strong for that.

“You would though.”I glance to him in question.“When my cock hits that spot inside of you, you can’t help but scream my name. Just like last night.”

“Darius!”I hiss.

I hear him laugh.“Now, you can rest your voice after I’m done with you.”

“You’re impossible,”I mumble.

“No,”he says, finally looking at me. “I’m your Vihnarn.”I huff, but smile, letting the title fill me with warmth. His magic squeezes over my hand.“Feel better?”

I nod. He took my mind off the memories that I knew were beginning to surface at seeing Patrick.

“I know your needs, little wolf, don’t doubt that.”To the others he says, “Leo, I need you to fire at the back of the group, we need them distracted.” Leo nods. “Jerrod, Damian, see that tree line?” He points to the left of the group. “Stay in there, make noise, try and get some rogures to come your way. Take ten men with you. Josh, Taylor.” My pack members turn their heads towards him. “Stay near Rhea, watch her back when we start our assault.”

“Which will be?” Hudson asks, next to Colten as always.

“As soon as the distraction has worked, my Elites will go forward and attack from their right. We will go in from the side.”

“For the Alphas,” I say.

“No, for the scum.”

I nod.

Darius left some of his men in Eridian, including Zaide and Maverick. I also left Seb and Anna there with Sarah. We still have some wounded that need to heal and she’s the greatest help they can have. Kade also stayed behind to protect them if needed, but Seb is keeping a close eye on him.

He’s not lashing out as much, but it’s too dangerous if it were to happen on a battlefield.

We just cannot risk it.

He understands, but he loathes it. Instead he said he would stay with Sam, who still hasn’t spoken a single word to anyone since we got her from The Deadlands, apart from him.

A howl sounds from below, and two rogures start fighting. This is not for play, either. If rogures are even capable of that.

The larger of the two goes for the other’s neck, chomping and crushing, snarling that black poison everywhere.
