I huff out a laugh the best I can being wolf, nipping at Josh excitedly by my side who nips back. My tongue hangs out, my tail low to help me gain speed as I rush on ahead, elated to finally feel…free.

Sarah runs at his side, staying close and Colten and Hudson come barreling past, racing each other. Seb is leaping in the air around Taylor as the serious male looks like he’s about to bite into him.

And it couldn’t be any better. Well it could be if Kade were here, but he went for a run before us. I tried to contact him down the link but I think Axis is running free.

Darius runs to the side of me, away from us to give me time with them— but doesn’t he know yet that I want him near?

Iyipat him and his head swivels toward me.

I bounce—sort of, or at least I think I do, but then I’m tumbling to the floor.

I roll, letting out a wheezing breath until I’m stopped as I land in a nearby bush, all four legs spread out at my sides as I let out a huff.

A chuffing sound comes, and then a black muzzle is peeking through, green eyes full of laughter.

I roll mine and stand, shaking out my fur.

Darius comes into the bush, nudging my head this way and that as he inhales my neck. He walks around the back of me, checking me over, or at least I assume he is. But when I feel his breath near my tail, I spin, baring my teeth.

He gets me on my back in an instant, pinning me.

Why do I always end up like this, damn him and his huge ass for not moving.

I’m about to bite him in warning when all of a sudden, Darius is there and Drax is out, his tails swishing as he looks down at me with humor in his eyes.

“It isn’t funny,” I tell him. Even the fucking wolf is laughing at me.

Darius looks down at me, smiling wide, and I close my eyes, willing me and Runa to part.

It comes easier now after days of practice.

Within a few moments, Runa is out and I’m below Darius, clothes fully intact.

I’m proud to say it didn’t take me long to manage the clothing situation, much to Darius’s dismay. Darius thinks that although Runa and I have never been connected like this, the time we have spent with one another has made the transition easy.

“What are you doing,” I pant, gripping Darius’s shoulders.

He bends and nuzzles my nose. “Let’s run.”

Huh? “But we were?”

He stands and brings me with him, chuckling as he picks twigs out of my hair.

“No, we haven’t run with our wolves.”

I eye him for a moment and turn to see Drax and Runa. I can hear my pack in the distance, their howls calling to me and I smile.

“Want to race?”

Darius’s lips tip up. “You want to play, little wolf?”

Without warning, I take off, laughing as Darius growls about cheating.

“Come on, Runa, let’s show them how to move.”

I guide my powers to the soles of my feet, and as soon as I hear Darius and Drax gaining on us, I reallymove.

I feel like I’m gliding as I sprint ahead. No tree slows me, nor do roots or large rocks. Runa and I run side by side, and I notice the slight blue glow to her paw prints every time a paw lands on the ground, I gasp, my eyes wide.
