A huff comes to my left, and then a nose is nudging my arm. I run my hand over his head as he looks down at Rhea.
“You did good taking care of them, Drax,” I tell him, and he growls softly, nipping me.
When he came from me, as he can with being an Heir, I felt his loss, felt our separation but I knew he would look for her,and my only hope would be that he finds her and keeps her safe. I couldn’t know if he succeeded, but then I felt her enter The Deadlands.
I had that same feeling that I had many moon cycles ago, that pull that drew me to her.
When Leo told me he saw her through the link, he just confirmed it.
I killed all the bora to cross my path and rushed to her.
Always to her.
Seeing her on the back of Drax, knowing he kept her safe and he helped bring her home to me nearly brought me to my knees.
It was like I could finally breathe again, like my soul could rest and be at ease. I was close to losing myself, lost to the madness that was creeping up within me at her not being near.
But now she’s here and like this, it is threatening to take me under.
Belldame mumbles to Anna quietly as they work on her, their eyes full of concern that sets me even more on edge. I have no idea what they are doing, but she’s not waking up.
Why isn’t she waking up?
Cazier, do not let her be taken.
I place a kiss on her forehead and get up, pacing again. Draxton lays next to her, his nose touching her arm as he watches over her.
“She’s full of cuts and bruises,” Anna says before sniffling.
My jaw clenches.
“She may have hit some rocks when she fell,” Belldame replies.
I growl again, my fists clenching at my sides before I swallow roughly as I look over her. She’s so pale, her skin has a bluish tinge to it and her lips are cracked, bleeding slightly. By the looks of her body, she must have been in so much pain.
My chest tightens in a way that’s almost painful to take a breath. Where has she been? And who the fuck are the others?
“Who are the people that came with her?”I ask my brothers.
“Villagers from Colhelm,”Zaidesays.
“They say she saved them.”Damian mentions.
Always the savior.
“They said rogures attacked and she managed to port them out of there with the wolf,”Leo murmurs.
I tense at that.
“Was she well when she came to them?”I question.
“We will ask,”Leo says before the link shuts down.
“Is she okay?” Josh asks then, and my head snaps toward him as he rushes into the cave.
I growl, covering Rhea’s nakedness with a barrier and then stand in front of her, protecting her.
Josh comes to a stop as my power flows out of me, a snarl on my lips as I watch his every move. Drax growls in warning.
