That fucking traitor.
Drax sits off to the side, giving his keeper the stink eye and I walk over and join him, leaning against the mass of his body as we look down at the begrudging cuteness happening in front of me.
They know we can see them, and they don’t even care.
Runa licks Darius’s face, and Drax snaps his teeth, a warning growl coming from him, causing Darius to smirk.
“Stop being so possessive Drax.” I raise a brow at him.
I walk around Drax and come up behind Darius, and without hesitation, I launch myself at his back, climbing on him. “Hey!” We fall forward on Runa, and Drax comes to us, standing over us as he tries to get to Runa as Runa scrambles to stand. I laugh as Darius rolls us, but I’m soon pushing him off of me as the big oaf weighs far too much.
“Gods,” I wheeze, rolling on my belly and breathing deeply. “I thought I was a goner.”
“Stop being so dramatic,” Darius laughs, hauling me up and placing a kiss to my lips as our wolves play.
“I could have died,” I say breathless as he nudges his nose with mine.
“Not in my presence.” I smile, and then he’s grabbing my hips and placing me on Runa.
He jumps on Drax and they take off, running into the trees toward where we can hear the others howling.
The smile doesn’t leave my face as we chase them, and I tilt my head back, releasing my own howl as Darius laughs at me, smiling more than I have ever seen him.
This is what we will be fighting for in the coming days, and I’ll be damned if it gets stolen from me before it has even begun.
“Faster, little wolf, let’s run until we can’t run anymore.”
And we do.
That night, when the lands were quiet, Darius took me to a new clearing of lesia flowers and made me see more than stars as he pleasured me over and over again.
Like it was the last time.
Because it might be.

“We will get through this, child,” Belldame says as we stand around the gathering, preparing ourselves to port out to Wolvorn Castle.
Apprehension swirls inside of me, looking over the amount of people from the lands who have chosen to fight with us over staying in Eridian with Kade.
“I hope this plan works.”
“I don’t think the Highers suspect an attack so soon, especially after their slaughter upon Witches Rest,” Belldame says.
I look to her as grief clouds her eyes. She lost so many, and lost her home. I know what that feels like.
“We will help you rebuild,” I tell her, grabbing her weathered hand in mine and squeezing.
She nods. “After we kill them all.”
“Every single one of them.” I agree.
“Us witches have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Now, more than ever.” I look over the witches that will come with me to attack the front of the castle walls.
I can tell they are also hurting, but revenge bleeds through their eyes,
