I look at him watching me. His breathing is choppy, his shoulders bunching up and I see what he doesn’t say aloud.
His fear is that I’ll disappear.
“I can’t Rhea, not yet.”
I let my hands rest beside my head and spread my thighs so he easily slides in between them.
“Then show me I’m alive,” I tell him, sighing as he enters me on a rough groan. “Show me what it means to be yours.”
Forty Six
Rhea
“Rhea,” Josh calls out as he runs toward me.
I fall into his arms as he scoops me and spins us, clutching each other tightly.
Darius growls from behind us, but for once, he makes no move to get him away from me.
“I was so fucking scared.” Josh puts me on my feet while checking me over. “Are you okay?”
“I’m okay,” I tell him, looking into his tired, gray eyes.
I’m scooped up again and Seb is there, clinging to me as Colten comes to my back, shoulders shaking as he holds me.
“Stop scaring us,” Seb says gruffly.
“It’s not fair to keep doing this,” Colten tells me, and I hold them, closing my eyes to their warmth. Then Taylor and Hudson are there, then Anna.
She cries, tears dripping down her cheeks as we hug each other tightly. “I will boil you alive if you ever do that again!”
I laugh against her, her red curls sticking to my face as my own tears drop. “I don’t want to make it a habit,” I chuckle.
“Ah, she wakes.”
“Belldame!” I say on a gasp, and I go to the older woman as she embraces me, those bones on her neck clanking together.
“I knew you would wake, child, all you needed was more than your own within you.”
“What do you mean?” I ask, and pull back while grasping her hand.
“You needed him,” she nods her head and I look over my shoulder to Darius, watching me, his brothers next to him grinning at me.
I huff out a laugh. “I think he would have gotten me from the below, himself.”
“Oh child, you don’t belong in the below.”
Before I can ask her what she means, Leo comes over to me.
“I don’t appreciate you running off when I am talking to you.” I raise a brow at him. “You scared the shit out of me.”
Then he wraps his arms around me.
I’m too stunned for a moment, but then I awkwardly pat his back. Damian hugs both of us next, laughing as he rocks us from side to side.
“Aww, we are one big, happy pack,” Damain shouts.
“Shut up,” I laugh, punching his arm playfully. He runs back over to Darius, saying something about abuse.
