During the next twelve minutes, they sat in silence as the vehicle barreled through the night towards Danner’s location.
“Seven and the guys are already on the scene. We are rolling up dark,” Link murmured and killed the headlights as they rounded the corner onto the street.
The Suburban rolled to a quiet stop, and Link shut off the engine.
Silently, they exited the vehicle as one, slipping like water through the night.
Meeting up with Hunter, Seven, and the others, Ace used hand signals to communicate.
Pegasus was a deadly force encroaching through the dark as they converged on the house with the stolen car parked outside.
They had one goal in mind.
Taking back one of their own.
Viper, the head of a group of military assassins, stepped out of the shadows.
“What do you have?” he asked the man who stood before him wearing all black.
“I should have a bead on him soon.”
“You’ve known about this for six months and you haven’t had a bead yet. Do I need to put someone else on it?”
“No, he made a mistake recently, and I’ll have him neutralized before the week ends.”
“Is Micah going to be a problem?”
“No.”
“Make sure that he’s not.” With a curt nod, Viper stepped back and disappeared into the dark shadows.
Black thought he could see the man’s wide shoulders as he walked away, but it must have been a trick of the light because instead of gravel crunching underfoot, only silence greeted him.
With a sigh, he turned and made his way back to his vehicle.
He had a job to do.
One that he wasn’t looking forward to.
The only downside was that Micah would never forgive him.
“Whose house is this?” Jordan whispered to Micah.
“Supposedly, Danner has a woman here he’s dating.”
“How come nobody knows about it?”
“How should I know?” Micah said on a quiet, snorting laugh.
“You suck.” Jordan rolled his eyes and checked the clip in his weapon. He had two more clips tucked into his pockets.
Thankfully, he wore his vest when tracking Cody, otherwise, he would have felt exposed.
“Supposedly, she’s got kids,” Black murmured from his spot near a thick oak tree just down the block. The man had binoculars to his face for a long time before he lowered them and glanced over.
“And they aren’t hers,” Micah said.
“Whose are they?” Jordan asked quietly.
