“Same ol’ same ol’,” Crow said with a wide smile.
Winter stepped around Crow and gave Levi the same brief clench and then a fist bump to Roman King.
“You guys here on business?” Crow asked.
“Yeah, Will called me,” Levi said.
That Will had called Levi wasn’t surprising since Levi’s mother was Will’s cousin—that made Levi and the SecDef second cousins. Will also had a cousin who worked for Cobalt Security out of Denver. In fact, Real wouldn’t be surprised if more of the SecDef’s family started popping up out of the woodwork.
The guy had more relatives than anyone Real knew.
“I heard you got married,” Real told Levi.
“I did, in February.” Levi’s smile was wide and his eyes shone.
“And have a kid?”
“I do.”
“What’s that like?” Real asked.
“It’s like nothing on earth,” Levi said, his smile goofy.
“Okay, okay,” Nash groaned with a laugh. “Don’t get him started.” Levi gave Nash a light punch in the arm.
“Who’s this?” King asked, eyeing Azrael, who stood by Real’s side. Azreal was combing his fingers through the long, wet strands of his dark hair.
Wearing only a pair of swim trunks, the boy was absolutely gorgeous, and Real felt his chest tighten. He curled his arm around Azrael’s shoulder and drew him into his side.
“This is Azrael, he’s…mine,” Real said, staring at King. He had wanted to saymy boyfriend, but the quick, hot possessiveness had surged to the forefront of his brain, and he had to stake his claim.
“I’m Azrael,” Azrael said and elbowed Real in the ribs.
Real grunted beneath the impact.
“My boyfriend.” There, he said the words.
Azrael turned those dark eyes on him with his lips parted, gaping at him.
“I am?”
“You don’t sound too sure,” King said with a laugh.
“You most definitely are,” Real growled and kissed Azrael on the lips.
If that didn’t keep the wolves at bay…he did own a gun.
“Iwonder why they want us here?” Beck asked as they trudged across the dusty paddock toward one of the main buildings.
Boston walked silently at Azrael’s other side, along with Freedom.
It was just after dark on a Thursday night and Azrael had the same thought, but then he was reminded of Will’s words back at the YA house.
And while everything had been relatively quiet, they still hadn’t apprehended Micky or Titus. Apprehended wasn’t exactly what they did, but if Titus had boys like Tanis had, then they would need to keep him alive until they got the locations.
“Because Titus has it out for Real and all of us are targets,” Azrael said, finally answering Beck.
“I know that part, but why areweincluded in the meeting?” Beck asked.
