“Lola, I thought I told you I needed the Vishay complaint served,” Sully starts, then he covers his eyes like we’re naked. “Jesus Christ, can the two of you keep your hands off each other ever!”

Lola huffs in embarrassment and I block her. “We’re both dressed you sod! And knock next time. This is Lola’s private space.”

My brother’s hand falls down and he looks about as annoyed as me. You’d think the guy would at least apologize. “And what do you mean she needs to serve a complaint?”

Lola pushes me out of the way. “I did serve the complaint. The guy threw the papers in my face after saying he wasn’t Vishay but a court officer was standing right there.” Her face gets redder as she explains everything that happened. “So yeah, after all that, the court had no problem calling it served.”

I whirl on my brother. “Why did you send my girlfriend to serve divorce papers.”

Lola’s red hair whips around her shoulders as she stares me down. “I serve people all the time at the courthouse.”

“Not assholes who are there for their final restraining order hearing,” I growl. I’m ready to rip my brother’s head off for putting her in a bad positionwhen I hear another voice.

“Helloooo!”

I straighten at the sound of Madame Esmeralda’s greeting. Shockingly, the woman doesn’t even need us to call out to her to let her know where we are. Her psychic abilities have her rounding the hallway and peeking into Lola’s new office.

“Callahan, we will need to reschedule our session.”

Ah, shit. My shoulders slump. I was really hoping we could get her help on the Sloane situation.

“I know, it's disappointing but it's for the best because your path is stable, and there is nothing jumping out to me.” Her words have me brightening as I glance at Lola and she gives me a soft smile. For all her anger over me trying to tell her what to do when it comes to our job, I know Lola loves me and appreciates that I care. Or I hope she does. I suppose I’ll have to work on that. Madame E continues talking, “Sebastian needs me to take him for a ride. Ever since he went with Lola’s parents on that motorcycle tour, he has become obsessed with the rumble of the bike between his thighs.”

I grin. “It's so nice he had a good time, June and Dezi still ask about how he is doing.”

Lola wraps her arms around my waist and leans against my chest. “It worked out so perfectly for all of us, got Mom and Dad out of my hair, and Sebastian out of yours.”

“Enough,” Sully barks.

I grab one of the balls I perfectly placed off Lola’s desk and nail him in the head. It’s like training a dog. Bad behavior deserves a knock in the head.

“Wanker,” Sully grumbles, grabbing the ball that’s hit the floor. He slips it into his pocket and glares at me. “No more balls.”

I smirk.“It seems Mr. Grumpypants hasn’t had his happy-nappy.”

Madame E chuckles. Lo groans. “No. That one doesn’t work.”

I shrug. “I like it.”

“I’m done,” Sully grumbles.

He goes to leave but Madame E steps in front of him. “Sullivan, you need to get ready because the incubator is on the way.”

“Incubator?” I try to think what type of animal would require an incubator. I will get the riddle this time. I light up at the idea of a new thing to figure out. “Are we getting chickens next?”

“No.” The words fly from Lola’s lips. “You promised no more things.”

“This is for Sullivan, Callahan. Nothing to concern you,” Madame E says to me seriously, then she turns and disappears.

“Wait,” I call after her, stalking past my brother. I can hear Lola following. We need more information.

Incubator. Hmm, what the hell would need an incubator?

Madame E is gone before we get to the entryway and I sigh. “Guess we’ll find out soon enough,” I say to Lola right as the bell over the front door jangles, announcing someone else. I spin hoping Madame E is back only to find my sister-in-law storming in like a woman on a mission.

“Where is he?” she growls. I swear her and Sully are the same person.

“Sloaney!” I say with a smile, trying to calm her down.
