“Ares! You made it!”

My eyes popped open at Monica’s greeting, meaning she saw me first and came over. She was friendly and pretty, another thing men cried over; she favored Destiny’s Child singer Kelly in the looks department. I smiled at her as she hugged me quickly.

“You’re not even dressed? Why are you wearing sweats? I had specific instructions in the chat.”

I smirked at her whining.

“I was at practice, and it ran late.”

“But your brother and Damon made it on time.”

“That’s why I’m team captain, don’t you think?”

Monica giggled and rolled her eyes.

“You sharpened the skates and ensured everything was in place, right?”

“Yes, Monica, I did.”

She smiled wider as she ushered us closer to where Lily and Carmen were.

“Lily, Carmi! Let’s grab seats. Ares is here!” Monica shouted.

Lily nodded and waved when she saw me. Damon appeared in time to get her off the bar. Carmen looked around, trying to get down, avoiding my eyes as if I was going to shove her off the bar.

My brow cocked, waiting to see what she would do. She took too long as everyone else walked away toward the booth seats.

I sucked my teeth. I reached out, wrapping my arm around her legs, and tossed her over my shoulder as she squealed. She was taking too damned long, and I needed to sit down momentarily. I was tired.

Chapter8

Carmen

The second Ares set me on my feet, both my girlfriends gave me a look that said oh, it’s like that… and now, I’m on a mission to prove it’s not like that even though they know about us hooking up. I couldn’t hide it from them even if I tried. I am not a very good liar.

Well, so far, I don’t need to even do anything because Ares is so in his world and not paying attention to the rest of us that I don’t know why he came here or why anyone would think we’re hooking up.

It’s a sort of blessing in disguise because the last thing I’d want to do is make our friends uncomfortable. I didn’t want to lose my friends or be the one to mess up this group of friends because I couldn’t keep it in my pants.

“Did you want to dance?”

Mars pulled me out of my stupor, and I blinked his way.

“Yeah, sure!”

I looked at Ares, waiting for him to move so that I could get out of the booth. While it looked like he was not listening, Ares scooted out and stood before I leaned in and asked him to excuse me.

Mars pulled me to the dance floor, and while I thought we were going to be dancing as we used to, at a distance, he wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me flush to his body.

He sucked his bottom lip into his mouth as he danced with me. Dancing with Mars made me feel like if I died and went to heaven right now, it would all be worth it. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he lowered himself so that I could even reach his neck.

I don’t know what song is playing now, but I don’t care.

“Turn around for me, sweet Carmi.” Mars seductively said, and I did what he asked once again.

Once I was facing away from Mars, my eyes didn’t wander mindlessly; instead, they looked right at Ares, who wasn’t looking at us. Instead, he was busy conversing with a girl I recognized from last year that hung around him, Jennifer Bradley. Chris Brown’s Privacy played loudly, making me feel every bass thump through my body.

My nipples beaded, wanting the attention of one brother while dancing with the other, feeling his rock hard body on mine.
