“Hey, eyes over here, Bambi.” Orion teases. He spins me out of his arms and instead of me coming back in, I’m grabbed by someone else, Ares, the oldest brother.
He smirks as he pulls me to him. Once again, my breath is stolen. What is it with these Moralis men? Ares dances with me, not giving the rest of the guests a glance. “He really loves you and thank you for loving my baby brother.” Ares leans over, kissing my forehead.
When he pulls away, he spins me out and another person grabs me. It’s Bowie’s cousin, Jagger. He dances with me like he’s known me for years. He smiles at me, “you make Bowie happy and you gave him a family. Thank you.”
“Thank you for being his family too. He loves and admires you.”
Jagger smirks. “I know. He wants to be me so bad.”
I laugh. “Oh, you don’t say?”
“Uh hell yeah. You’re practically married to me, just so you know,” Jagger says.
“I’ll remember that.” I laugh hard. Jagger winks as he looks behind me and spins me into someone else’s arms. It’s Andres Bishops. My eyes are wide as he dances with me. Andres Bishops dances?
“Yes, I do,” He answers with a chuckle.
My eyes must have grown bigger because he chuckles harder. “Did I say that out loud?” I ask.
“Yup but that’s alright, I tend to shock people. Apparently, I’m a dancer at parties now. Be good to my boys, yeah?”
“Boys?”
“Yeah. Ares, Orion, and Phoenix. You are the first girl to ever infiltrate and they don’t mind it. Be good to them and be great to Phoenix. He suffered without you.”
“I feel like there’s a but or a threat following.”
“Smart.” He winks as he spins me out and into another pair of arms which this time, I know is Phoenix’s.
“Would you have wanted it any other way?” Phoenix asks.
I shake my head. “No, this is perfect.”
He smirks. “Good.” There’s an air of arrogance in his voice and I can help but hug him like I did the very first time he agreed to help me.
“Thank you,” I say.
“You’re welcome,” I hear another voice right behind me and I know who it is. My body still reacts the same when he’s this close to me. I shudder, Bowie is so damned close that I can feel every part of his lean body on me. I look up at Phoenix who’s looking at Bowie not because he wants to kill him but that weird talking with the eyes language they’ve had since I met this odd pair. I feel as Bowie leans down closer to my ear, “you ready for the world to know just how I feel about you?” he whispers.
I shut my eyes. I want to answer him, except the only thing that pops up right now is glimpses of our legs and bodies tangled together. All three of us in ways I have never thought I could be again. I open my eyes and Phoenix watches me. He shows no emotion on his face or in his eyes. He’s watching me. “Are you?” I ask.
“Well, everyone here knows poly marriages are not a crime nor is it illegal. I may not have been part of walking down the aisle to me but baby, trust me when I say I bound you to me just as you’re bound to Nix. You’re bound to both of us for life now.” Bowie’s voice grows sinister. This is the Bowie that I know, the one I meant who isn’t all fake smiles and laughs.
The one who isn’t too flashy just to hide who he really, truly is. So, both men were best friends because they shared everything. They shared their food, their love and the most important person to them, me. I grab unto Phoenix’s arms, my nails digging deep into his shirt. “Don’t be scared, baby Bambi, tonight, we’re going to make you remember why we were yours. From the first teardrop to the last one.”
Bowie’s low chuckle tells me he’s about to do something crazy because this is his trigger laughter. I feel Bowie’s hand as it comes up, wrapping around my throat. He turns me around to face him and before I can take a breath; he kisses me. I can hear as the band stops playing and the entire room is quiet. Maybe they expect Phoenix to flip the fuck out, but from the way I feel him behind me, I know it won’t happen. I kiss Bowie like my life depends on it, like I have never gotten that chance before. I kiss him how I missed him. It hurts to even think about him in that way. To feel the loss of never having to kiss him or cuddle with him again. I sigh in his kisses because this is what I missed. The warmth of the other while one devours and wrecks every part of me.
Bowie steps away from my kiss just as fast as he kissed me. I’m still too high strung on his kiss to hear what he’s saying in the mic but I catch the last part. “Don’t look at us like we’re fucking crazy. It’s not illegal. She’s our wife.” He winks at the crowd as he signals the band to play again.
Bowie looks my way again, “Oh, come on, little lamb, don’t look at me like that. Eventually, they were going to figure it out. I was practically humping you a second ago and this big fucker did nothing about it.”
Phoenix grunts. “I still could do something about it if you want to make a scene but I’d rather not stab you for clout,” he smirks.
I stay quiet, looking at both of them. “When did this happen? When did you two announce it without telling me?”
“When I asked the only fucker who’s idiotic enough to hump my wife not only in public but at my reception if he wants the world to know or would he rather pretend like we don’t exist.” Phoenix replies and rolls his eyes.
“Our agreement,” Bowie starts. “The only way I was going to perform is if they know you as my wife. I don’t care for fucking weddings and dumb shit like that, but I want to claim you,” Bowie runs his tongue over his teeth while he stares up and down at me. “I let you run away once when we were younger, Bambi, but you won’t run from being known by the world this time. The only chasing I’m doing with you is for satisfaction now, honey. You like to be chased and then once you’re captured, you want to be ripped apart. Mauled to death and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”
