“Son of a bitch.” My knot stretches her to the point of pain, and her moans turn into a feral scream, accompanied by her working herself on it. The movements are limited, tiny rolls ofher hips as she milks the come from me. “Good girl, getting every last drop.”

We stay like that for a while, my knot refusing to go down, but I make her come two more times by flexing my knot and pressing two fingers against her clit.

She cries for me. Begs me for more. And I reward her when a desperate little whine of my name slips past her kiss-swollen lips.

The sound undoes me. Taunts the wolf and pleases the man.

And I’ll spend the rest of my life being worthy of my siren’s kiss.

EPILOGUE #1

KAI

You never forget the moment that changed your life.

The instant where everything you know loses meaning, because nothing matters more than her smile…her happiness. When a single color can anchor you—violet, the shade of her eyes, brighter than the stars.

Brighter than the gods themselves.

This is what I hold onto as another first rocks our world.

Her pain comes in waves, stealing her breath, and I wrap my arms around my mate, purring against her back to help ease the distress. She responds to the sound, the tightness easing just enough that she takes in another deep breath before another contraction grips her.

She stands at the shore, waves tumbling over themselves as they await their new heir. One foot on land, one in the water, and squatting while a special blanket blessed by Magda and Elara awaits the delivery. They’d placed it between her parted legs atop the sand, and the water has been respectful not to touch the blessed cloth. Water spreads around it, movements gentle, always easing back before contact can be made.

“Push, little treasure,” I whisper, my lips against her damp hair, my thumb stroking across her swollen belly. “Push for me. I got you. Our pup is almost here.”

Tears stream down her cheek, mixing with the cooling sea breeze. “I love you, my wolf.”

“As I live and breathe for you.” My voice cracks. Beneath my palm, my child shifts and moves, finding their way out. And beneath my flesh, my beast’s purrs rise. His love letter. Happiness. Peace. Home. “By the goddess, I love you.”

The next contraction hits as the last word slips past my lips, and my mate whimpers. The sound is full of pain, but there’s pride in her emotions, too. I feel them through the bond. Excited to meet our little one and start this next chapter of our lives together.

She digs her nails into my arm, tearing the skin, and pushes.

My fate leans against me, not fighting against the pain but rather letting it flow. Welcomes it.

Her strength shows through each pant and tear—then, her expression changes. The wolf and I, we feel it too.

It’s as if the world stops and the sea holds still.

“It’s time,” Nerissa gasps, half-sobbing, half-laughing as I leave one hand braced against her hip and drop to my haunches. With my other hand, I lift the blanket between Nerissa’s legs and watch in awe as my baby is about to be born. “Welcome our baby, love. I can stand.”

“I’ve got you both.” Bracing my body close in case her legs weaken, I place the blanket over my hands and catch our beautiful, and slick, tiny bundle with little spots across her back in muted yellows and blues—her scales.

A little girl with hair black as night and a scrunched-up face slips from her mother’s tired body and into my hands, changing my world once again.

Nerissa is exhausted as I place our daughter against her chest, but the smile that lights up her face is another one of those moments you never forget, no matter how many years pass. She takes in her face, counts each finger and toe, while I thank the gods for this gift.

My family. My pack.

Placing my most important treasures on a daybed near the sea, both for the mother’s healing and baby’s comfort, I send a mindlink to our family.Little Miss and Mom are well. Going to call the midwife, and then I’ll come to you.

The announcement is met with a joyous chorus from our family back at the pack house. Howls and cries of joy, but I tune them out. Close the mindlink, and sit down next to my mate as a midwife comes to check my precious ones.

She’s gone in thirty minutes, Nerissa’s healing ability already repairing her body while my perfect pup passes every test. Won’t deny I’m a proud papa either.

“What will we name her, Alpha? What does she look like to you?”
