“Aw, were you worried?” he replies with a grin.

I scowl. He’s both infuriating and endearing.

“Not at all,” I say calmly. “The prize is 5K. I figured you’d show.”

“True, but I’m not only here for the money,” he insists.

“Oh, that’s right,” I say. “You’re trying to win me over.”

“Exactly,” he exclaims. “And you’re really making me work for it.”

I press my lips together and before I can respond, the crew member begins the game.

“Let’s win some money,” Tyler whispers in my ear. His warm breath tickles my neck, making me slightly dizzy.Gah!I need to focus on winning cash, not Tyler, or how cute he is when he’s trying to be charming.

We listen intently as the crew members call out numbers. I’m doing much better than Tyler, and he groans as I continue to fill my bingo card.

“Is it driving you mad that I’m beating you?”

He holds up his bingo card. “This is all luck, babe. Let’s agree that if one of us wins, we split the money.”

“Ah, you just want to make a deal because I’m ahead of you.”

He leans closer to me and studies my card. His arm is now pressed against mine making me feel dizzy again. “You only have four more numbers than me. It’s anyone’s game.”

One by one, our cards are filling up, and suddenly Tyler takes the lead. He punches the air with his fist in satisfaction. He’s definitely super competitive, but in a fun way.

“Now do you want to make a deal?” he asks.

I roll my eyes. “Fine.”

“Okay, if one of us wins, we spit the money. How about seventy-thirty?”

“That’s fair,” I say.

“And if I win, I get to name your car.”

My mouth drops open. Is he serious?

“What?”

“You can make your own wager, too. It can be anything you want.”

I laugh. “Do you really think my car needs a name?”

“Yes, because then it truly becomes a part of your family.”

The crew member calls out another number, and now I’m only three numbers away from winning.

“I only have three more to get.”

“Me too,” he exclaims. “Let’s do this.”

We both grow silent as they continue to call out numbers.

“Bingo,” Tyler yells, leaping to his feet.

Holy crap. He won.
