I won’t be winning an Oscar anytime soon.

“What brings you here?” I ask.

“I love this place. Best tacos in town.”

I nod in agreement. “They really are.”

His raises one eyebrow. “Wow. Did we actually agree on something?”

I force a smile. “Shocking, isn’t it?”

“So, where’s your date?” he asks, shoving his hands into his pockets.

I give him a curious look. “Date? Oh, no—I’m here with my friend. She’s in the restroom.”

I’m silently praying Parker takes her time, so I don’t have to go through the whole introduction of Tyler.

I look around. “What about you?”

“I’m meeting up with a few friends,” he replies. “I’m not on a date either, in case you were wondering.”

Admittedly, I thought the blonde woman might have been his date. I’m not sure what to say to him. Our first interaction was a bit tense, and usually Leslie is glued to his side when we’re around each other.

All of a sudden I notice Parker making her way back to the table. Oh, this is going to be fun.

“Sorry. There was a woman bawling her eyes out in the bathroom,” she says. “A totalLegally Blondemoment.”

She pauses when she notices Tyler standing next to the table.

“Oh, hello.” She looks back and forth between Tyler and me.

“Parker, this is Tyler. He’s also a member of Caroline’s bridal party.”

I know the wheels are turning in Parker’s supersleuth brain. She’s probably putting the puzzle pieces together—realizing Tyler is the truck guy.

“It’s nice to meet you,” she says. “Can you join us?”

I shoot her a look, but she ignores me.

Tyler looks back toward the door where the tall blonde woman is now talking to another woman in a gorgeous leopard print jacket.

“Sure. For a minute or two,” he says, pulling out the empty chair next to me.

Parker gives me a satisfied grin.

“So, what’s aLegally Blondemoment?” Tyler asks a few seconds later.

“You know, like the movie with Reese Witherspoon,” Parker exclaims, a shocked look on her face. “Don’t you remember the part in the movie when she thought she was getting engaged but her boyfriend broke up with her at dinner? The poor woman in the bathroom was expecting to get engaged tonight too. There were three of us trying to calm her down.”

“Ahh … I get it,” he says.

“So, Tyler, what’s your story?” Parker asks.

I shoot a glare at her. What’s she doing?

“My story?” he asks with a snicker. “You mean Tori hasn’t talked about me yet?”

She shakes her head. “No, she hasn’t.”
