Ifeel sick to my stomach. It could be the pizza, the stress, or maybe the Mountain Dew. Does anyone really know what’s in that drink?

After my roommates and I had a good cry, we ordered food and talked about what lies ahead for us.

I know Reagan is still upset with me, and I feel bad about it. My intentions were good. It just sucks that Bethany of all people had to be the one to break the bad news to her. And I know she’s going to use that to her advantage and try to slither her way back into Reagan’s life.

“So, Sara told you that she and Cal want to buy the house?” Gabby asked. “That’s awkward.”

“I know. The interesting thing is that Cal told me that it’s not true. He even went out of his way to text me after Theo talked to him.”

Thankfully, Gabby isn’t mad at Theo for not telling her. The last thing I want is to cause problems for the newly engaged couple.

“So he doesn’t want to move in with her?” Gabby asks.

I shake my head. “No, he does—I think. He just said they wouldn’t be buying this house because there are too many memories.”

Gabby raises her eyebrows. “Of you?”

I start to pull on a loose string from the throw pillow in my lap. “He didn’t say.”

“But that’s what he meant,” she says knowingly.

I shrug. “Does it really matter?”

“Yes. Because I think there’s a part of Cal that might still have a feeling or two for you.”

“A feeling or two?” I repeat.

“Yep, and I think it’s mutual.”

I could sit here and insist that I haven’t felt anything since Cal fell back into my life, but they know better. “So what if I do? He’s with Sara.”

“Until AJ Bennett comes around,” Gabby suggests.

Ugh. I don’t know what to think anymore.

“We should have a dinner party,” Reagan announces, like it’s the most brilliant idea she’s ever come up with.

Gabby and I both give her a curious look.

“I hope you’re not suggesting we make dinner and invite guests over to eat it,” I ask.

She snorts. “Definitely not. But, since our days are numbered here, we could do a potluck. Everyone could bring a dish, and you could invite AJ. Then we could all witness how Sara acts around him. If there’s something going on, Cal deserves to know.”

The corner of Gabby’s mouth curls up. “A dinner party. It could be fun—and you’re right, it may be one of our last here.”

Reagan shrugs. “And if there’s really nothing going on with Sara and AJ, then Lila can make her move on him. He’s super handsome and seems like he’d be a lot of fun.”

Reagan smiles proudly at her sneaky idea.

Well, well, well, I knew there was a devious side to Reagan under all the kindness and understanding. I’m grateful she’s still talking to me after I withheld important information.

This ought to be interesting. Let the games begin.

“Hi, honey. How are sales?” my mother asks.

I groan as I finish typing an email. I have so much on my plate right now that sales are the last thing on my mind.
