“Kai, I’m close,” I gasp, the pressure inside me building to a crescendo under the masterful guidance of that ribbed alien cock.

His features are twisted into a lustful snarl, his eyes setting me on fire with unbridled desire. “I’m going to claim you for everyone to smell,” he growls, the eroticism of the threat pushing me over the edge.

My eyes roll into the back of my head as my mouth drops openinto a long, agonized moan, Kairen’s victorious roar bouncing off the water and echoing, an animal call that warns off all other predators.

As our hearts slow down in unison, my commander kisses every inch of my skin he can reach, soft touches that speak of the gentler side of passion, now that the tsunami has receded.

“I want to have a match ceremony once we get home,” he whispers hoarsely.

I pull back and blink at him sleepily. Despite spending most of the time I was gone asleep, I’m suddenly feeling drained. “What’s that?” I murmur, my palm coming up to caress his cheek. He’s still inside me, still hard, still gently pulsing with his long orgasm.

“Something like your human exchanges of vows,” he answers, his purple galaxy eyes observing me curiously. “I know not all humans opt to make their partnerships official. But I would really love an excuse to call you mine in front of everyone.”

I grin at him. “Do you actually need an excuse? Pretty sure half the ship heard us just now.”

Kai shakes his head, the dark strands of his hair glowing under the stellar display above us. “The area is soundproof. I wouldn’t allow anyone to hear your moans of pleasure.”

“I’m not-so-secretly relieved,” I reply with a chuckle, then start kissing his neck and shoulders, anything I can reach while still being locked to him with our privates.

“Is that a yes?” he inquires, sounding a little bit self-conscious.

I pull back and look into those fathomless eyes. “Of course it’s a yes, Kairen,” I murmur. “You know I’m not a huge fan of being the center of attention, but for you, I’d sing karaoke sober in front of your whole planet.” I bare my teeth at the thought. “Though I’d likely need lots of drinks after.”

My malien’s eyes flash as he processes the information I’m feeding him, and I have to admit I’ll miss these days when he’s so up to date with human culture and lingo that I can’t shock him anymore. Hopefully that’s still years away, though.

“I won’t subject you to that, my love. But I must be honest and tell you that Avaren royal births are public.”

I freeze, my mouth dropping open, my blood running cold. He expects me to… in front of everyone? “E–excuse you? No. No, no, no. I am not getting my coochie stretched open for everyone… You’re joking,” I finish with a sigh.

Kairen’s shoulders shake with his laughter. “Of course I’m joking.” He kisses the tip of my nose. “It will be just you and me there for the birth.” His head tilts to the side. “Perhaps Lirael, if I’m feeling unreasonably anxious for your safety.”

I mutter some juicy insults in Slovene as Kai walks us back to the shore. Now that his member finally slipped out, he drops me onto the sand and follows, looming above me. His grin reminds me of a shark that could live in these ocean waters, and he pries my legs open.

“W–what are you doing?” I stutter, my arms falling to my sides as he pulls away.

He looks between my legs, then back at me, before growling lowly. “I’m going to feast.”

KAIREN

Inervously check my cube again, but see no one has hailed me without me noticing. Not that that would be possible, as I’ve hardly taken my eyes off it.

“Relax, Kai,” Caden murmurs, fixing the back of my collar. I keep rumpling it as I drag my hand through my hair. “She’s your match, she adores you, she’s carrying your child. It’s not like you’re forcing her into this ceremony and she’s looking for ways to escape.”

“It’s not that,” I say quietly. “Last time we were celebrating, she got abducted by enemies I didn’t know we had. I always thought the Avaren were loyal. I knew Korvann was discontent, of course, but I never imagined so many would follow him.”

“A lot of them had no choice,” my best friend and cousin replies as he steps in front of me. His indigo gaze calms me. “It was either go along with it or die. But it’s pointless to even talk about it now.” He shakes his head. “The people of Avaren love Tara and would do anything to protect her. You have dozens of watchful eyes on her at all times now.”

I smirk at him. “Yeah, much to her consternation.”

My match feels best when it’s just us. Byus, I mean me, her, andher little robot friend, Kiko. She’s even having the mech stand by her side as we exchange our vows, like Cade is standing by mine.

“It’s the price to pay for being a beloved princess,” he muses, wiping an imaginary speck of dust off the breast of his shirt.

“Speaking of beloved princesses. I’m not waiting a moment longer to make her mine.” I put away my cube and turn to the exit, ready to leave the room I was getting ready in.

Caden stifles a laugh. “Guess it was a miracle you lasted this long.”
