Kendall and Mattie didn’t like her, so, out of loyalty, he’d decided against befriending her.

Tabitha sashayed forward, her hips swinging, her double ‘D’ tits on full display in the lowcut sweater dress she wore.

She stopped in front of him and gazed at his mouth before meeting his eyes. “I need your help.”

“Obviously,” he said dryly, sliding over to get her boobs out of his face.

Instead of getting the message, she plopped next to him, their bare thighs touching.

“Tell me what the fuck you want, so you can get the fuck out of this room,” Johnnie snapped. If he wasn’t in so much pain, he’d shove her the fuck off the bed. But sweat was beginning to bead his brow and the stitches were throbbing.

“I think Meggie, erAuntMeggie, should go away for a few days.”

“That’s between her and Christopher. There’s nothing I can help you with.”

Clearing her throat, she shifted, twisted her hands, then hung her head. “Diesel told me about the thing with Bash.”

“Diesel had no right to discuss club business with you,” he barked.

“He’s so worried about her,” Tabitha said quietly. She sniffled. “I’m worried about him. We’re trying to have a baby, but with all the stress he hasn’t been interested in sex lately.”

“Again, this isn’t my fucking problem, Tabitha. You’re talking to the wrong motherfucker.”

She laid a hand on his arm and turned pleading eyes to him. “But I’m not! You’re perfect. I’ve already talked to Aunt Meggieand Uncle Christopher about the cabin. He said he’d look into it. Ifyoutalked to her and vouch for me that it’s safe, she might go.”

Unlikely. Megan was furious with him because he’d been such a supreme motherfucker to her.

Johnnie yanked his arm away from Tabitha. “She’s more likely to fucking punch me than talk to me,” he admitted.

Tabitha giggled. “She’s a fucking marshmallow. She’d never punch you.”

“She has. She did. Yesterday,” he admitted with a smile.

“Oh. Well. I don’t know what to say to that.”

“There’s nothing to say. Megan’s a pacifist as long as you don’t fuck with her husband or her children.” Or fuck with her to her breaking point, unleashing her temper. “I can’t be of any assistance to you, so please get out.”

“Please, Uncle Johnnie. The cabin is in the middle of nowhere. It’s perfect for her to rest and regain her full strength.”

The middle of nowhere?

Away from the club. Away from Bash. Out of harm’s way.

Exactly what Johnnie wanted. With Megan out of the way, he could handle his wife and daughter.

“It’s the holidays. She won’t leave right now. I won’t have a chance of getting her to agree until after Christopher’s birthday.”

Frustration puckered Tabitha’s brow, but she covered it with a smile. “As long as you get her to go so she can be taken care of with a little me time, it doesn’t matter when she goes.”

“This is your cabin?”

Tabitha shook her head. “No, it belongs to a friend. I’ve only visited once but it was so peaceful and isolated. I was cut off from the world, which allowed me to disconnect from all the problems plaguing me and focus on myself. When was the last time she did that? She devotes herself to her husband, her children, her family, and the club. The woman is run ragged. The only time she gets a break is during her pregnancies.”

Other than the obvious boon of getting her out of Bash’s path, Johnnie agreed with Tabitha. “Her pregnancy with Jo didn’t end the best, but you weren’t around for the others.”

She shrugged. “Diesel told me.”

“Can I have the location of the cabin? I can check it out while I’m trying to convince her.”
