“No.” Sloane scowled. “I wasn’t even here for the Torie bullshit. How the fuck did I get caught in the crossfire?”

“’Cause bitches, man,” Digger grumbled, throwing Bunny a begging look. “How Meggie got them to be more loyal to her than the motherfuckers laying pipe?”

Clearing his throat, Mortician nudged his assfuck of a brother.

“Now, Outlaw,” Digger started, facing Christopher, “you know I love your woman like she was my little sister. And, uh, little sisters and big brothers have falling outs.” He nodded to Sloane. “Tell him, bruh.”

Sloane shook his head. “Fuck off. I’m not opening my goddamn mouth. Outlaw has sisters anyway, so we don’t have to tell him shit.” He threw his chin in Cash’s direction. “That’s the asshole with a little sister. I have brothers.”

“Any advice on what to say for Fee to forgive me?” Cash asked. “Stretch isn’t any help.”

“Because I’m not talking to you either, motherfucker,” Stretch replied.”

“Then you’re on the wrong goddamn side,” Cash said viciously.

“Wrong. Ophelia expectsyourbullshit. She’s disappointed I went along with it and helped to humiliate Meggie.”

Collective winces and groans went around.

Val leaned his fisted hand on the bar and rested his head. “Zoann so fucking mad at me. She threw my fucking pillow in my girl’s pen. Told me to sleep with her.”

“You call your hog your girl?” Derby asked, lifting his brow. He wasn’t caught in the crossfire because Gypsy wasn’t with him right now, but Christopher caught him casting covert glances at the woman.

Brooks sat quietly on a barstool, doubly fucked. Kendall and Charlotte were angry with him, although for two different reasons. Kendall aligned with Megan. His time in the meatshack upset his bitch.

“Roxanne has been cooking for Grant,” Knox added. “She won’t even look at me.”

Cameron drew in a deep breath. Ifhewas in the doghouse, they’d fucked up more than Christopher had imagined. Doc Will was easy-going but no-nonsense and fair-minded. “Like Sloane, I wasn’t even at the fucking meeting. I would’ve told you what a bad fucking idea it was, Outlaw. You’ve known Meggie half her fucking life. You had to know how the fuck she’d react.”

“We the one who gave him the bad advice,” Mortician said, always loyal. “We been knowing Meggie girl the same amount of time.” He looked toward the girls, his face falling when Bailey lifted her chin and turned her head. “Fuck, man. I feel likekicking my own fucking ass. Even worse, CJ devastated. We made him betray his momma.”

“I wish Rebel was devastated,” Diesel said. “She’s just twisting the fucking knife deeper. Fuck, she even clipped the wings of Axel, Ryder, and Ransom.”

“Reb might be on to something, Outlaw,” Val said. “She’s my niece and shit, but that’s a brutal little bitch.”

“We all arrived together like the fucking sad sacks we were,” Digger said.

“She read us for filth,” Mort said, scrubbing a hand over his eyes. “She said we’d drawn the lines that has wrecked Meggie girl.”

“She said it was ‘Us’ versus ‘Them’,” Cash said grimly. “Reminded me of Daphne.”

“Please don’t bring that bitch up, bruh,” Digger said. “Outlaw already on edge.”

Val leaned closer. “April said the same thing.”

Derby frowned. “Didn’t you kill that bitch?”

“Yep.” Val drained his pint of rum. “I was just co-signing Cash. The term has been used several times over the years. Rebel didn’t bring up nothing new.”

“I’d say she did.” Boy had been ruminating in silence, watching his woman, Danicka. They were two of the cheatingnest motherfuckers around, but he looked like he’d lost his best friend. “She meant women versus men. Girls versus boys.”

“This is a fucking birthday party, not a marriage counseling session,” Johnnie barked. “It’s more like a fucking funeral.” He guzzled from the bottle of whisky. “Megan’s angry?” He slurred the bellow. “Who gives a fuck? She’s always pouting.” He swigged more booze.

When Mort glanced at the women again, Christopher followed the direction of his gaze. He was staring at Kendall. Worry and fear filled her face.

“Your bitch coming unglued, Johnnie,” Val growled.

Mortician leaned forward and snatched the whisky bottle from Johnnie.
