“I want you,” she whispered, her voice hoarse with need. “I don’t want to wait. We’ve waited long enough, haven’t we?”

“God, yes.” We rushed at each other for another exhilarating kiss, and I wasted no time before plunging my tongue inside her mouth.

My heart raced at her moan of approval, and I reached down, cupping her ass and lifting her up. She locked her ankles around my waist as I staggered carefully toward the bed in the corner, dropping her gently onto it.

Her fingers tugged at the hem of my shirt, and she yanked it over my head, tossing it to the floor.

As I pulled back to admire her, she ran her hands over my bare chest and torso. Her hair fanned out over the pillow, and her skirt fell high on her thighs. I skimmed my hands beneath it, touching her silky skin and pushing the skirt higher around her waist, revealing the sexiest little lacy pink panties.

I groaned but didn’t dare close my eyes to that sight. “Fuck me,” I whispered.

“I’ve come a long way since the cotton surfboard panties, huh?”

“I wouldn’t know… because I’m an idiot who didn’t get to see those surfboard panties.”

I slid down her body and trailed my nose up her thigh until I reached the apex between her legs where I hovered for an agonizing moment before pressing a kiss to the mound beneath the lace.

My cock pressed painfully into the mattress at the mere scent of her. She wasn’t even naked yet, and my head was spinning. I needed to taste her.

Like a man possessed, I licked her through the panties, my tongue rough along the textured fabric, then grazed my teeth against her covered clit.

A loud bark interrupted my haze, and I jumped, startled to find Freckles sitting on the corner of the bed beside us. Staring.

I loved dogs, but even I had my limits.

“Oh, crap!” Haylee jolted to sit upright, and dammit if her dress didn’t fall lower on her thighs, covering that beautiful sight of her panties. “I forgot I have a lesson to teach.”

Wincing, I sat up and adjusted my rock-hard erection. “When?”

She glanced at her phone. “Twenty minutes.”

Dammit. Icoulddo this in twenty minutes. But I didn’t want to. My first time with Haylee was not going to be a quickie before she had to pop on a Zoom call. Hell no.

I swallowed my groan of frustration and kissed her deeply. “Get ready for your lesson,” I said, standing. “And why don’t I pick you up tonight for a date instead?”

Reaching over, I gave Freckles a quick scratch behind her ears. “And you aren’t invited,” I muttered as the dog’s wagging tail wiggled her whole body.

Haylee blinked and licked her kiss-swollen lips while pulling her wild hair into a high ponytail. “An official Finn Evans date?”

“That’s right. An official Finn Evans date.”

Although, I wasn’t sure exactly what that would look like for Haylee. She was special. Different.

I couldn’t just take her to Greico’s for a nice dinner. That wasn’t enough. It didn’t show her how much she meant to me. Luckily, I had half a day to plan something extraordinary.

She stood up from the bed, straightening her dress as I backed up toward the door.

As I reached for the handle, I paused, watching the dogs outside playing in the yard. Tyson was rolling in the grass, happily scratching his back in the dirt.

“One more thing,” I said. “I want to adopt Tyson.”

Her brows jumped. “I thought you claimed you weren’t ready for a dog. What changed?”

Our eyes locked for a long moment.

“Everything,” I whispered. “Everything’s changed.”
